Abstract: To mitigate undesirable outcomes due to crosstalk in an ambient light sensor reading resulting from light emission from an electronic display, statistics may be gathered to determine and compensate for the crosstalk. For example, the ambient light sensor may detect ambient light levels while the electronic display is temporarily paused to reduce or eliminate crosstalk between the light produced by the electronic display and the ambient light sensor. However, the ambient light sensor may retain charge from a previous light emission, creating back-emission crosstalk. The ratio of back-emission to front-emission (e.g., present light emission) may not be linear, and the degree of nonlinearity may vary with pixel value, color component, display brightness, temperature, and so on. As the ambient light sensor is affected by back-emission, compensation for the nonlinearity between the front-emission and the back-emission may be obtained to estimate the crosstalk induced on the ambient light sensor.

Abstract: A housing for a component (e.g., a heat exchanger) of a heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) system is disclosed that includes one or more attachment flanges and/or one or more support flanges that are integrated into the housing. The disclosed housing reduces or completely eliminates the use of separate brackets and fasteners when installing components within the housing and/or when coupling the housing to other components of the HVAC system. By dramatically reducing or eliminating these separate components, the disclosed housing designs reduce the likelihood for installation errors, as well as delays due to misplaced brackets and/or fasteners during installation. Accordingly, the disclosed housing designs enable a cost-effective solution for reducing the cost and complexity of installing HVAC system components.

Abstract: A show system includes a rotatable beam assembly having a rotatable beam, a first track, a second track, and one or more motors. The show system also includes a first show element coupled to the first track to enable the first show element to translate along the first track and a second show element coupled to the second track to enable the second show element to translate along the second track. The show system further includes a controller communicatively coupled to the rotatable beam assembly and configured to provide control signals to the one or more motors to rotate the rotatable beam to cause the first show element to rotate from a show location to a reset location and to cause the second show element to rotate from the reset location to the show location.

Abstract: A digital signal processing (DSP) block includes a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) unit capable of performing an FFT operation. The FFT unit includes a first FFT engine capable of converting a signal between a time-domain and a frequency-domain and the first FFT engine is a fixed size FFT engine. The FFT unit also includes a second FFT engine communicatively coupled to the first FFT engine and the second FFT engine is a variable size FFT engine. The FFT unit also includes a scale/offset block communicatively coupled to the second FFT engine and the scale/offset block is capable of performing a multiplication operation, an addition operation, or a combination thereof on an output of the second FFT engine.

Abstract: An electronic device may include a display panel. When content of an image frame is expected to consume relatively higher amounts of power, a controller of the electronic device may operate a switch to change a power supply of the display panel to be a power management integrated circuit of the electronic device. However, when content of an image frame is expected to consume relatively less amounts of power, the controller may operate the switch to change the power supply of the display panel to be a power supply of an electronic display, such as a power supply used to power driver circuitry of the electronic display.

Abstract: A heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) system includes a heat exchanger with a shell having a first pass configured to place a fluid in a heat exchange relationship with a first refrigerant and a second pass configured to place the fluid in a heat exchange relationship with a second refrigerant. The heat exchanger also includes a water box coupled to the shell and configured to direct the fluid from the first pass to the second pass. The HVAC&R system also includes a fluid mixing manifold disposed within the water box, where the fluid mixing manifold is configured to collect and mix a plurality of flows of the fluid from within the water box to generate a mixed fluid, and a sensor coupled to the fluid mixing manifold, where the sensor is configured to measure a parameter of the mixed fluid.

Abstract: A system faults to a return air sensor integrated within a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit. The system transmits a signal to a remote sensor. The system determines that a return signal is not received from the remote sensor. The system obtains a temperature reading from the return air sensor. The system determines whether the temperature reading satisfies a temperature setting stored in the memory. In response to determining that the temperature reading does not satisfy the temperature setting, the system enables heating or cooling of the HVAC unit until the temperature setting is satisfied. In response to determining that the temperature reading satisfies the temperature setting, the system disables heating or cooling of the HVAC unit.
