Abstract:
The invention provides compounds, pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds and methods of using such compounds to treat or prevent diseases or disorders associated with the activity of liver X receptors (LXRs).
Abstract:
The invention provides compounds having Formula Ia, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and Y are as defined in the specification; as well as pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds and methods of using such compounds to treat or prevent diseases or disorders associated with the activity of Cannabinoid Receptor 1 (CB1).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to inhibition of viruses, e.g., HIV using pyrrolidones and compounds related to pyrrolidones. The invention further relates to methods for identifying and using agents, including small molecule chemical compositions that inhibit HIV in a cell; as well as to methods of prophylaxis, and therapy related to HIV infection and related disease states such as AIDS.
Abstract:
A mudflap assembly comprising a bracket for connection to a vehicle and a swiveling support is claimed. A mudflap hanger arm rotatably couples with the bracket via a hinged pin joint. A ramping sleeve is coupled to the pin between the hanger arm and bracket on one end, and a spring installed on the other end provides compressive force against the hanger arm when it travels up the ramping sleeve in response to a horizontal force.
Abstract:
A method and circuitry for pre-conditioning an electrical signal. The method comprises limiting the strength of the signal to not exceed a limit signal strength corresponding to the onset of substantial non-linear response of an amplifier to which the limited signal is to be supplied for amplification.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a recombinant P. funiculosum strain for the production of homologous and heterologous proteins, and a transformation method for obtaining such recombinant P. funiculosum. Expression cassettes designed with genetic regulatory elements functional in P. funiculosum such as promoters, terminators and signal peptide encoding sequences are also encompassed by the present invention.
Abstract:
A pipelined CPU executing instructions of variable length, and referencing memory using various data widths. A writeback cache is used (instead of writethrough) in a hierarchical cache arrangement, and writeback is allowed to proceed even though other accesses are suppressed due to queues being full. Separate queues are provided for the return data from memory and cache invalidates, yet the order or bus transactions is maintained by a pointer arrangement. The bus protocol used by the CPU to communicate with the system bus is of the pended type, with transactions on the bus identified by an ID field specifying the originator, and arbitration for bus grant goes one simultaneously with address/data transactions on the bus.
Abstract:
A closure cap for a container comprises an inner cap which can be screwed onto the neck of a bottle, and an outer cap which covers and surrounds the inner cap. The outer cap has a tamper evident rim part of which extends into an annular groove in the inner cap. Portions on the top of the inner cap can be brought into engagement with portions provided under the top of the outer cap following downward movement of the outer cap. This downward movement of the outer cap enables rotation of the outer cap to effect removal of the cap, but such downward movement is only possible after the tamper evident rim has been removed.
Abstract:
An optical fiber connector assembly employs a tubular alignment portion in which two watch jewels, one fitted to each fiber end, are aligned. The jewels are mounted on the ends of ferrules and have diameters greater than that of the ferrules so that alignment of the fibers is made off the jewels rather than the ferrules.
