Abstract: An integrated equipment for processing a plurality of fiber optic ferrules comprises a polishing system, a ferrule cleaning system, a drying system, a wiping system, and a robot system. The polishing system polishes a plurality of front end faces of the plurality of fiber optic ferrules mounted on a carrier. The ferrule cleaning system cleans the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules on the carrier after the fiber optic ferrules have been polished. The drying system dries the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules on the carrier after the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules have been cleaned. The wiping system wipes the front end faces of the fiber optic ferrules on the carrier after the carrier and the fiber optic ferrules have been dried. The robot system transfers the carrier to the polishing system, the ferrule cleaning system, the drying system, and the wiping system.

Abstract: A wiping system comprises a support table, a conveying unit configured to convey a wiping belt onto the support table, a carrier holding device configured to hold a carrier on which a plurality of fiber optic ferrules are mounted, a carrier pressing device configured to press the carrier on the support table with a plurality of front end faces of the fiber optic ferrules in direct contact with the wiping belt, and a first base on which the support table is mounted. The carrier holding device and the carrier pressing device are slidably mounted on the first base. The carrier pressed on the support table is movable back and forth relative to the support table in a first horizontal direction while the front end faces of the fiber optic ferrules remain in direct contact with the wiping belt.

Abstract: A method of forming a terminating end of a cable, comprising the steps of: providing a cable; cutting a circumferential slit through an outer insulation layer; clamping a first section of the outer insulation layer with a first clamping device, and clamping a second section of the outer insulation layer with a second clamping device; displacing the first clamping device, separating the first section from the second section and exposing a section of a metal braid; displacing the first clamping device; pushing and pressing the exposed section to fold the exposed section into a braid protrusion portion; loosening the first and second clamping devices, and removing the cable from the first and second clamping devices; cutting the braid protrusion portion with a cutting device to form a protruding braid portion, the protruding braid portion; and removing the first section of the outer insulation layer and a first protruding braid portion.
