摘要: A fabric sleeve in the form of a strip of material having compatible attachment members along its lateral edges, is applied to a cable by a device located at a site where the cable can be introduced into a conduit. The device includes a beam carried by a post. The beam carries a plurality of formers which receive the sleeve and the cable from rolls and which progressively fold the sleeve around the cable. The beam also carries an attachment device which receives the sleeve and cable from the formers and which connects the attachment members of the sleeve to confine the cable therein. The attachment device can be opened so that the sleeved cable can be removed. The device is operated at the site until the sleeved cable reaches a downstream installation site and the process is repeated at that downstream site.

The gauge portion also may be configured to permit the cutter portion to cut the pin received by the receiving portion to at least one predetermined length that is needed for an installation so as to provide uniform electrical performance of the connector, which may be a coaxial or hardline connector.

摘要: A method of connecting wires to a connector comprises the steps of securing the connector onto a base and loading a connecting sequence onto the controller of a guiding device. Each step of the connecting sequence includes a location of a connector cavity. The method further includes the steps of repairing a plurality of wires that each correspond to the respective steps of the connecting sequence, starting the connecting sequence to move the guiding device to align a channels with a cavity that corresponds to the first step of the connecting sequence, and repeating the following steps until the end of the connecting sequence, manually guiding each of the ends of the wire through a corresponding channel of the guiding device and into the cavity to electrically connect the wire to the connector, releasing the wire from the guiding device, and automatically aligning the channel of the guiding device with the cavity corresponding to the next step of the connecting sequence.
