Abstract:
The present invention relates to a clay-reinforced poly(lactic acid)-polyolefin alloy composition comprising 5-50 wt % of a clay-reinforced poly(lactic acid) resin, 40-90 wt % of a polyolefin, and 5-20 wt % of a compatibiliser. A clay-poly(lactic acid) nanocomposite according to the present invention is used with a polyolefin resin to enable the easy distribution of the clay-poly(lactic acid) nanocomposite into microstructure in the polyolefin resin, thereby showing excellent gas and moisture barrier characteristics, so that the composition is suitable for a molded product requiring barrier properties such as a sheet and a film for food packaging, a fuel tank and a portable fuel tank.

A liquid crystal display includes first and second substrates facing each other, a liquid crystal layer between the substrates, first and second thin film transistors on the first substrate, and first and second pixel electrodes connected to the first and second thin film transistors, respectively, on the first substrate. A transverse center line bisects the first and second pixel electrodes into upper and lower portions. The first and second pixel electrodes include a plurality of branches which alternate. First and second regions include first and second intervals between adjacent branches of the first and second pixel electrodes, respectively, the first interval being larger then the second interval. At least one of the branches includes a first portion forming a first angle with the transverse center line, and a second portion forming a second angle with the transverse center line different from the first angle.

A liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer between the substrates and including liquid crystal molecules, a first pixel electrode, and a second pixel electrode. The pixel electrodes each include a stem at an edge of a pixel area, and a plurality of branches extended from the stem. The branches of the pixel electrodes are alternately disposed. The liquid crystal display further includes a first region including a first interval between the branches of the first pixel electrode and adjacent branches of the second pixel electrode, and a second region including a second interval between the branches of the first pixel electrode and the adjacent branches of the second pixel electrode which is smaller than the first interval. The first region is where the stems of the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode are not disposed.

A DC machine, particularly a DC motor for use in a motor vehicle, includes a stator, a rotor that is supported rotatably in a pole housing having a commutator, and having a brush-holder support, made substantially of plastic, for fixing at least two brushes and further components. The brush-holder support has a device for improving the positioning of the components situated on or at it relative to the rest of the machine and/or for shortening the tolerance chain of the machine, in particular, a longtime stabilization of the overall equipment being also achieved.
Abstract:
A liquid crystal display (LCD) having high luminance and color renditions is provided. The liquid crystal display includes a first insulating substrate, a gate line and a data line crossing each other on the first insulating substrate to define a pixel. First and second sub-pixel electrodes divide the pixel into two parts. A first switching element drives the first sub-pixel electrode and a second switching element drives the second sub-pixel electrode. A second insulating substrate faces the first insulating substrate. A color pattern is arranged on the second insulating substrate and overlaps the first sub-pixel electrode. A contrast pattern overlaps the second sub-pixel electrode.
Abstract:
A method for determining a GPRS mobile terminal connection mode is disclosed. Whenever a GPRS data service is requested, a mobile terminal counts the number of attempted of GPRS connections and the number of successful GPRS connections to calculate a GPRS connection rate, compares the calculated connection rate with a predetermined connection rate. If the calculated connection rate is greater than the predetermined connection rate, the mobile terminal changes the GPRS connection mode to a ‘when needed mode’, whereas if the calculated connection rate is not greater than the predetermined connection rate, the mobile terminal changes the GPRS connection mode to an ‘always on mode’. Accordingly, by changing the connection mode in a GPRS network, network resources can be better utilized and the connection rates can be increased.
