Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system for repetitive loading of a prosthetic socket to test the durability of the prosthetic socket. The system includes a base and a load cell coupled to the base. The system further includes a first coupling mechanism positioned vertically above the load cell, and a second coupling mechanism positioned vertically above the first coupling mechanism. The first coupling mechanism is configured to be removably coupled to a first end of the prosthetic socket, and the second coupling mechanism is configured to be removably coupled to a second end of the prosthetic socket. The system further includes a rod having a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end of the rod is coupled to the second coupling mechanism. The system further includes a motor coupled to the second end of the rod, a support structure extending vertically from the base, and an actuator coupled to the support structure such that the actuator is positioned vertically above the second coupling mechanism. The system further includes a curved rail coupled to the actuator and positioned between the actuator and the second coupling mechanism. The curved rail is configured to contact the second coupling mechanism along an arc defined by the curved rail such that the second coupling mechanism moves along the arc when the motor moves the rod.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system including one or more sensors, a mounting system configured to removeably mount a computing device such that a camera of the computing device is positioned facing an eye of a subject, and a control system. The control system is configured to (a) receive sensor data from the one or more sensors, (b) determine whether the sensor data is indicative of balance instability of the subject, (c) track a position of the eye of the subject to assess vestibular dysfunction, (d) determine whether the camera data is indicative of vestibular dysfunction of the subject, and (e) in response to (i) the sensor data being indicative of balance instability of the subject and/or (ii) the camera data being indicative of vestibular dysfunction of the subject, display an indication of symptoms that are characteristic of a traumatic brain injury or concussion.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for determining a discrimination index in a subject that may be suffering from or at risk for a stress-induced psychiatric disorder. The discrimination index may be equal to a ratio of a subject's cued fear response and non-cued fear response measured during a fear-potentiated startle (FPS) paradigm. Such a value may allow a physician or researcher to quantify how well a subject discriminates between signaled (cued) fear and un-signaled (non-cued) fear, which may be a biomarker for psychiatric disorders like post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, phobias, and/or generalized anxiety disorder. The determined discrimination index may provide a standardized way of diagnosing and evaluating mental illnesses, more uniform treatment of patients, and/or more precise monitoring and evaluation of treatment efficacy.
