Described is a hotmelt adhesive comprising at least one poly(meth)acrylate which is formed from at least one monomer M1, selected from C1 to C18 alkyl (meth)acrylates, and from at least one monomer MI of the general formula where X is O, NH or CH2, Y is a divalent organic connecting group, and R is H or methyl. Also described is a corresponding poly(meth)acrylate with copolymerized photoinitiator, and also the use for the production of adhesives, preferably of pressure-sensitive adhesives for producing adhesive labels, adhesive tapes, plasters, bandages, and self-adhesive sheets.

Described is an adhesive composition in the form of an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising tackifiers, a compound crosslinking via keto or aldehyde groups and a pressure-sensitive adhesive polymer which is formed by emulsion polymerization from soft (meth)acrylic ester monomers, acid monomers, monomers having keto or aldehyde groups, styrene and optionally further monomers, wherein the polymerization may be carried out in the presence of chain transfer agents. The pressure-sensitive adhesive polymer has certain gel contents. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition may be used to produce adhesive labels, adhesive tapes or adhesive films.

A description is given of the use of a polymer dispersion for producing sound deadener compositions, the polymer dispersion comprising at least one polymer obtainable by emulsion polymerization of radically polymerizable monomers, and the polymer having a weight-average molecular weight of more than 100 000, preferably of more than 100 000 to 350 000. A description is also given of corresponding sound deadener compositions which comprise the polymer dispersion, and of a method for damping oscillations or vibrations of vehicle components.

A description is given of an aqueous polymer dispersion comprising a polymer which is obtainable by emulsion polymerization from a monomer mixture comprising as hydrophilic monomers ethoxylated (meth)acrylate monomer, acid monomer, and C1 to C20 hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate; and also at least one hydrophobic principal monomer, selected from C1 to C20 alkyl(meth)acrylates and vinylaromatics; and also, optionally, further monomers. This polymer is preparable by at least two-stage emulsion polymerization, where in a first polymerization stage the predominant fraction or the entire amount of the hydrophilic monomers is used, and in a later polymerization stage the predominant fraction or the entire amount of the hydrophobic monomers is used. The polymer dispersion is a suitable binder for aqueous particle dispersions, more particularly of sound deadener compositions, which comprise inorganic and optionally also organic particulate solids. Also described is a method for damping oscillations or vibrations of vehicle components.

A description is given for an anti-drumming composition comprising a polymer dispersion comprising at least one dispersed (meth)acrylic polymer obtainable by emulsion polymerization of radically polymerizable (meth)acrylic monomers, a high density filler mixture and a specific dispersing aid, wherein the anti-drumming composition has either a volume contraction or only a very low volume expansion after drying.

Described are polyurethane-vinyl hybrid polymers, methods of making them and their use. The hybrid polymers are made from an anionic polyurethane and a polymerizable vinyl compound, wherein the polymerizable vinyl compound is selected from methylene malonates, methylene beta-ketoesters and methylene beta-diketones. The hybrid polymers can be used as binder in structural adhesives, as binder in pressure-sensitive adhesives, as binder in laminating adhesives, as binder in contact adhesives, as binder in ink, as binder in paints, as binder in coatings, as binder for fiber bonding, as binder for particle bonding or as binder in high cohesion adhesive tapes.

Described herein is a protection film comprising a polyolefin carrier material, a precoating of the polyolefin carrier material with a primer selected from polyurethane dispersions and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of a radiation-crosslinked hotmelt adhesive. A process for producing such protection films is also described.

Plasticizer migration-resistant, UV-curable hotmelt adhesive for graphics films and labels made of plasticized PVCDescribed here is a UV-curable hotmelt adhesive largely resistant to plasticizer migration and comprising a UV-crosslinkable poly(meth)acrylate formed from methyl acrylate, C4-18 alkyl (meth)acrylate, monomer with acid groups, copolymerized photoinitiator and optionally further monomers. The hotmelt adhesive further comprises an aliphatic polyester polymer. The use of the hotmelt adhesive on graphics films and self-adhesive labels made of plasticized PVC is also described.
