ELASTIC NON-WOVEN FIBROUS SHEET MATERIAL IS PRODUCED BY PREPARING A MAT FROM ELASTIC POLYURETHANE STAPLE FIBERS AND CELLULOSE, POLYAMIDE OR POLYACRYLONITRILE STAPLE FIBERS BY CARDING THE FIBERS IN LAYERS WITH THE ELASTIC POLYURETHANE FIBER BEING EMBEDDED BETWEEN TWO LAYERS OF CELLULOSE, POLYAMIDE OR POLYACRYLONITRILE FIBER AND CON-A SOLIDATING THE FORMED MULTILAYER TO AN ELASTIC NON-WOVEN FIBROUS SHEET MATERIAL. THE FIBROUS SHEET MATERIAL MAY THEN BE BONDED BY COATING THE SHEET MATERIAL WITH A BINDING AGENT.

TEXTILE SHEETS ARE HEAT SEALED USING POLYURETHANE HEAT SEALING ADHESIVES OBTAINED FROM ALIPHATIC ISOCYANATES AND GLYCOLS HAVING ALIPHATICALLY BOUND HYDROXYL GROUPS AND A MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF UP TO 400 AND 0.1 TO 50 PERCENT BY WEIGHT, BASED UPON THE WEIGHT OF THE POLYURETHANE, OF A POLYHYDROXYL COMPOUND HAVING AT LEAST 2 ALIPHATIC HYDROXYL GROUPS AND A MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF UP TO 2500.

COATED SUBSTRATES ARE PREPARED BY A PROCESS WHICH COMPRISES TREATING A SUBSTRATE MATERIAL WITH A CURABLE COATING COMPOSITION COMPRISING (A) A KETOXIME BLOCKED ISOCYANATE TERMIANTED REACTION PRODUCT OF A POLYOL WITH AN ISOCYANURATE POLYISOCYANATE, SAID REACTION PRODUCT HAVING A MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF FROM ABOUT 8,000 TO ABOUT 15,000, (B) A TERTIARY AMINOALCOHOL HAVING AT LEAST TWO HYDROXYL GROUP, OPITIONALLY IN THE PRESENCE OF (C) AN INERT ORGANIC SOLVENT, AND HEATING THE COATED SUBSTRATE MATERIAL TO TEMPERATURES OF FROM ABOUT 80*C. TO ABOUT 200*C. TO CROSSLINK THE CURABLE COATING COMPOSITION.
