Abstract: According to one aspect, a medical device system for visualizing internal patient anatomy may comprise: a shaft including a distal tip portion, the tip portion including an imaging device, and a signal modulator; and a control unit operatively coupled to the shaft and including a de-modulator. The imaging device may be configured to output a first signal to the signal modulator. The signal modulator may be configured to modulate the received first signal and output a modulated second signal to the control unit; and the de-modulator of the control unit may be configured to receive the modulated second signal, de-modulate the second signal, and output a de-modulated third signal. The control unit may be configured to output the de-modulated third signal to an electronic display.

Abstract: An endoscope may include a shaft having a longitudinal axis, a first image sensor facing a distal direction, and a second image sensor facing a lateral direction. The endoscope may further include a tubular member having a lumen, the lumen having a distal-end opening and defining a longitudinal axis through a center of the lumen. The tubular member may be movable between a first configuration and a second configuration. In the first configuration of the tubular member, the longitudinal axis of the lumen may be parallel to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. In the second configuration of the tubular member, the longitudinal axis of the lumen may extend through a lateral opening in a wall of the shaft.

Abstract: A medical device that includes a sensor including a filter array. The sensor is configured to capture a raw image and the filter array is configured to filter the raw image into a frame of raw pixel values including first, second, and third pixel values. The medical device includes non-transitory computer readable medium storing demosaicing instructions that, when executed, causes a processor to exclude the first pixel values from the frame of raw pixel values. The processor generates estimated second pixel values at locations of the excluded first pixel values and the third pixel values on the frame, and generates estimated third pixel values at locations of the excluded first pixel values and the second pixel values on the frame. The processor creates a processed image having a partial-resolution frame from the second pixel values, estimated second pixel values, third pixel values, and estimated third pixel values.

Abstract: A method of generating a color image using a monochromatic image sensor. The method includes sequentially illuminating a surface in a plurality of colors, one color at a time. The monochromatic image sensor captures a plurality of image frames of the surface based on the plurality of colors. The plurality of image frames are identified, and at least one feature in the target of the plurality of image frames is highlighted. Color intensities of the plurality of image frames are normalized. A color intensity map of the target for each of the plurality of image frames is generated. A correlation score is determined by comparing each color intensity map of the plurality of image frames. The color image is generated based on the correlation score.

Abstract: A medical system that includes a shaft having a distal end configured to be positioned at a target site, a first light and a second light positioned at the distal end, and a computing device communicatively coupled to the first and second light. The computing device includes a processor and non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, causes the processor to determine a first illumination measurement of a first region of the target site by the first light and a second illumination measurement of a second region of the target site by the second light. The second region is different than the first region. The processor adjusts emittance from the first light, in response to the first illumination measurement being different than a first threshold, and emittance from the second light in response to the second illumination measurement being different than a second threshold.

The image sensor is configured to generate a first electrical signal based on a capture of one or more images, and the first electrical signal includes image or video data associated with the capture. The distal conversion device is configured to convert the first electrical signal to a light signal. The optical fiber is configured to facilitate transmission of the light signal between the distal conversion device and the proximal photoreceiver, and the proximal photoreceiver is configured to convert the light signal to a second electrical signal.
