Abstract: The present disclosure describes systems and methods for negotiating power harvesting. An access point includes a memory and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor receives, from a first device, a first message indicating a first amount of power harvested by the first device and a second amount of power requested by the first device and determines, based on the first amount of power, that transmitting a third amount of power will cause the first device to receive the second amount of power. The processor also transmits the third amount of power.

Abstract: Embodiments herein describe BKDs that can transmit reply messages using different frequencies than the frequencies of wireless transmissions they receive which can reduce collisions in a Wi-Fi environment. In one embodiment, when transmitting power to be used by a BKD to transmit a reply message, an access point (AP) also includes an parameter that affects the frequency used by the BKD when transmitting its signal. For example, the AP can direct the BKD to use a frequency in a channel that is not used by other Wi-Fi Devices. The BKD can be equipped with a frequency filter that can shift the carrier frequency of the BKD response (compared to the carrier frequency of the energy-bearing signal) allowing the response signal to be transmitted on a different frequency than the one which was received.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a device identifies a plurality of paths in a wireless backhaul network between a gateway and a plurality of access points that provide wireless connectivity to a mobile system. The device determines a movement of the mobile system. The device determines, based on the movement of the mobile system, that a particular path in the plurality of paths is not needed to provide wireless connectivity to the mobile system. The device causes one or more networking nodes along the particular path to enter into a power saving mode.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communication are disclosed. These techniques include determining that a first wireless access point (AP) has a failure to connect to a controller. The techniques further include identifying one or more neighbor APs, for the first AP, as candidate rescue APs, selecting a rescue AP, from among the candidate rescue APs, and establishing a secure connection from the first AP to the rescue AP. The techniques further includes transmitting diagnostic data from the first AP to the controller using the secure connection from the first AP to the rescue AP. The diagnostic data relates to the failure to connect from the first AP to the controller, and the controller is configured to use the diagnostic data to assist in establishing a connection from the first AP to the controller that bypasses the rescue AP

Abstract: Techniques for improved wireless configuration are provided. One or more enclosing polygons of a deployment of access points (APs) are determined, and a first query for a regulatory database is generated based on the one or more enclosing polygons, where the regulatory database is spatially-indexed. In response to the first query, a set of spatial regions is received, where each spatial region in the set of spatial regions is associated with a corresponding set of wireless parameters. A first set of wireless parameters is determined, for at least a first AP in the deployment of APs, based on the set of spatial regions. The first AP is configured based on the first set of wireless parameters.

Abstract: In one embodiment, an access point of an overhead mesh of access points in an area selects a range of client identifiers. The access point sends, via a beam cone transmitted in a substantially downward direction towards a floor of the area, a trigger signal that includes the range of client identifiers and prompts client devices having identifiers in that range to send best effort transmissions towards the overhead mesh. The access point detects a collision between the best effort transmissions of the client devices. The access point adjusts the range of client identifiers so as to avoid future collisions between the best effort transmissions of the client devices.

Abstract: Techniques for managing communications between access points (APs) and stations (STAs) are described herein. In one embodiment, an AP broadcasts a trigger message to a plurality of STAs, the trigger message including a matrix defining a plurality of resource units (RUs) that the plurality of STAs are assigned to transmit or receive data, and a fragment flag. The presence of the fragment flag, within the scheduling matrix, informs the AP that the data transmission that the fragment flag is appended to is a partial transmission that will be completed in a subsequent transmission opportunity.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a home controller of a home domain and from a first device in the home domain, a first message concerning a user device that is anchored to the home domain and that has roamed from the home domain to a visitor domain. The method also includes, in response to determining that the first device is a router, opening a tunnel between the home controller and a visitor controller of the visitor domain and communicating the first message to the user device through the tunnel. The method further includes receiving, at the home controller and from a second device in the home domain, a second message concerning the user device and in response to determining that the second device is not a router, communicating, to the second device, a proxy response to the second message.

Abstract: Techniques for coordinating traffic and performing preemption in multi-link operations are provided. At least a first portion of a first element of data is transmitted by the first network device via a first link. A second element of data is identified by the first network device. The transmission of the first element of data is interrupted by the first network device to transmit the second element of data via the first link. A remaining portion of the first element of data is transmitted by the first network device via a second link.

Abstract: Aspects described herein include a method of automated grouping of client devices for a user-defined network (UDN). The method includes receiving, from a first client device, an authentication request to join an access provider network. The authentication request includes a unique identifier of the first client device. The method also includes transmitting the unique identifier to a UDN cloud and receiving a first list from the UDN cloud. The first list indicates that the UDN is associated with the unique identifier. The method further includes joining the first client device with a second client device present on the access provider network based on a second list from the UDN cloud. The second list indicates that the UDN is associated with the second device.
