Abstract: In one embodiment, a device identifies a path of travel of a mobile system. The device subdivides the path of travel into a plurality of zones. The device generates time-slotted channel hopping schedules for the plurality of zones, each time-slotted channel hopping schedule having an associated zone among the plurality of zones. The device causes the mobile system to communicate wirelessly with networking infrastructure located along the path of travel, in accordance with a particular one of the time-slotted channel hopping schedules while the mobile system is located in its associated zone.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a device identifies a plurality of paths in a wireless backhaul network between a gateway and a plurality of access points that provide wireless connectivity to a mobile system. The device determines a movement of the mobile system. The device determines, based on the movement of the mobile system, that a particular path in the plurality of paths is not needed to provide wireless connectivity to the mobile system. The device causes one or more networking nodes along the particular path to enter into a power saving mode.

Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques for transmitting data packets across a deterministic Ethernet network. Embodiments receive, at a first device in the deterministic Ethernet network, a deterministic binary schedule specifying timing information for transmitting data fragments relating to a plurality of data flows. Data packets to transmit to a destination device within the deterministic Ethernet network are received at the first device. Embodiments include fragmenting each of the data packets into two or more fragments and encoding at least one of the two or more fragments for each of the data packets with a respective sparse graph code. The encoded fragments are transmitted to the destination device, across multiple paths through the deterministic Ethernet network, according to timing information specified in the deterministic binary schedule.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a device sends data traffic to a gateway of a backhaul mesh network via a first wireless access point of the backhaul mesh network. The device maintains, while associated with the first wireless access point, an association with a second wireless access point of the backhaul mesh network by sending a frame to the first wireless access point that is relayed by the first wireless access point to the second wireless access point. The networking device sends a first flowlet of the traffic flow towards the mobile system via a first wireless access point. The networking device determines an idle time between the first flowlet and a second flowlet of the traffic flow. The networking device sends, based on the idle time, the second flowlet towards the mobile system via a second wireless access point.
