Abstract: A service-area repeater for deployment in a service area to provide capacity supplied by a base station located remotely from the service-area repeater includes downlink circuitry to receive, via a donor antenna coupled to the service-area repeater, transformed RF downlink signals transmitted from the base station or a base-station repeater, the base station transforming original RF downlink signals or the base-station repeater transforming original RF downlink signals received from the base station to produce the transformed RF downlink signals. The downlink circuitry includes a signal transformation circuit to de-transform the received transformed RF downlink signals to generate non-transformed downlink signals and a frequency correction circuit to apply a frequency correction to the downlink signals to produce corrected downlink signals. The downlink circuitry wirelessly transmits the corrected downlink signals via a coverage antenna to user equipment in the service area.

Abstract: Certain aspects and features of the present disclosure relate to a validation sub-system for determining whether access points in a telecommunication system provide suitable performance for a specified configuration of the telecommunication system. For example, a wireless receiver can simultaneous receive beacon signals at a common frequency from multiple access points. Each beacon signal has a data sequence that is different than the other beacon signals. A processing device can determine, based on the data sequences received by the wireless receiver, channel responses for channels between the access points and the wireless receiver. The processing device can output, based on the channel responses, an indicator that the access points are suitable for a specified configuration of a telecommunication system for providing wireless coverage using the access points.

Abstract: One embodiment is directed to a repeater system for use with a Fifth Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) base station. The repeater system includes repeater circuitry configured to switch between a downlink mode and an uplink mode. The repeater circuitry is configured to determine basic time-division duplexing (TDD) parameters for a 5G NR cell served by the 5G NR base station. The repeater circuitry is configured to determine timing of 5G NR time-division duplexing of the 5G NR cell based at least in part on correlating a waveform of a downlink signal with one or more of: a 5G NR Primary Synchronization Signal expected to be in the downlink signal as indicated by at least some of the basic TDD parameters and a 5G NR Secondary Synchronization Signal expected to be in the downlink signal as indicated by at least some of the basic TDD parameters.
