Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for preparing a porous cellulose medium, through the gelation of a solution in which cellulose acetate as a raw material is dissolved, which does not cause a reaction involving the migration of substances. Specifically, a method for producing a porous cellulose medium is provided which includes the steps of gelling a flowable homogeneous composition containing cellulose acetate, an organic solvent, and water through a decrease in temperature; and hydrolyzing the cellulose acetate contained in the resulting gel.

Abstract: Provided are a technique for preparing a porous cellulose medium without using a special gelling agent for a solution in which cellulose acetate serving as a raw material is dissolved; and a porous cellulose medium and the like produced using the technique. A method for producing a porous cellulose medium comprises the step of preparing a flowable homogeneous composition comprising cellulose acetate, a basic compound, and a solvent including water, and gelling the composition by deacetylation reaction of the cellulose acetate.

Abstract: Provided is a separating agent comprising a carrier and a ligand fixed on a surface of a carrier by chemical bonding, in which the carrier is a core-shell particle formed of a non-porous core and a porous shell, the shell having a pore diameter of 9 nm or more and formed of a hydrolysate of polyalkoxysiloxane, and the ligand is an optically active polymer, optically inactive polyester, protein, nucleic acid, or optically active organic compound with a molecular weight of 50 to 1000.
