Abstract: A silicone/polyurethane synthetic leather topcoat composition is disclosed. The silicone/polyurethane synthetic leather topcoat composition is a hydrosilylation curable silicone elastomer composition which provides good adhesion to polyurethane and is used to provide a topcoat for a silicone/polyurethane composite synthetic leather material. The topcoat is the cured product of the composition. Also disclosed are methods of making the topcoat and the silicone/polyurethane composite synthetic leather material as well as uses of the silicone/polyurethane composite synthetic leather material.

Abstract: Provided herein are self-adhesive curable silicone rubber compositions. When cured, the curable silicone rubber compositions generally achieve significant adhesion to plastic/thermoplastic/resin material substrates, and especially adhesion to polycarbonate materials. Also provided herein is a process for preparing plastic/thermoplastic/resin materials, especially polycarbonate/cured silicone elastomer materials, and articles and composite parts made from such curable silicone rubber compositions. The silicone rubber compositions generally comprise one or more organopolysiloxanes containing at least 2 alkenyl groups per molecule and having a viscosity of greater than 1,000,000 mPa·s at 25° C.; an organopolysiloxane containing at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; a platinum group catalyst; reinforcing and/or non-reinforcing fillers; and one or more rubber modified epoxy resins.

Abstract: A liquid curable silicone elastomer composition is disclosed. Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a leather coating composition comprising or consisting of a hydrosilylation curable silicone elastomer composition designed to be used as a topcoat for a synthetic leather material, particularly a silicone-based synthetic leather composite material. A silicone coating as a topcoat for a synthetic leather material which is the cured product of the composition, methods of making the topcoat, synthetic leather material utilizing same and uses of the synthetic leather material products are also disclosed. The topcoat is designed to provide a highly crosslinked silicone matrix containing silicon-free organic micro-particles to minimize or at least decrease change in gloss after abrasion. The leather coating composition comprises a hydrosilylation curable silicone elastomer composition, comprising: (i) at least one organopolysiloxane polymer; (ii) a reinforcing silica filler; (iii) a silicone resin cross-linker having terminal (M) groups comprising silicone bonded hydrogen; (iv) a hydrosilylation catalyst; and (v) silicon-free organic microparticles.

Abstract: Disclosed is an article adapted to receive multiple battery cells, such as a battery module, which provides thermal insulation between adjacent battery cells using thermally insulating layers comprising a ceramifiable elastomeric silicone material using calcium silicate fillers such as wollastonite. There is also provided, the use of said ceramifiable elastomeric silicone material as a means of delaying and/or preventing thermal runaway in such an article. Typically, the battery cells for which this article is designed are lithium-ion battery cells.
