    Abstract: Provided herein are self-adhesive curable silicone rubber compositions. When cured, the curable silicone rubber compositions generally achieve significant adhesion to plastic/thermoplastic/resin material substrates, and especially adhesion to polycarbonate materials. Also provided herein is a process for preparing plastic/thermoplastic/resin materials, especially polycarbonate/cured silicone elastomer materials, and articles and composite parts made from such curable silicone rubber compositions. The silicone rubber compositions generally comprise one or more organopolysiloxanes containing at least 2 alkenyl groups per molecule and having a viscosity of greater than 1,000,000 mPa·s at 25° C.; an organopolysiloxane containing at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; a platinum group catalyst; reinforcing and/or non-reinforcing fillers; and one or more rubber modified epoxy resins.

    Abstract: Addition curing electrically conductive liquid silicone rubber (LSR) compositions, their methods of preparation, and cured elastomeric products made from the compositions are provided. The compositions are cured to form elastomeric products suitable for high voltage applications such as cable joints, cable terminal applications, cable accessories and connectors. In general, the composition comprises: (a) at least one polydiorganosiloxane having at least two alkenyl groups per molecule: (b) at least one organohydrogenpolysiloxane: (c) at least one reinforcing filler: (d) at least one hydrosilylation catalyst: and (e) an electrically conductive filler. Component (e) comprises: (i) extra conductive carbon black: and (ii) single walled carbon nanotubes.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates to curable silicone rubber compositions suitable for use in the manufacture of cured-in-place gaskets (CIPGs), silicone elastomers resulting from the cure of such compositions and methods for making CIPGs from such compositions. The inclusion of a compound having at least two trialkoxysilyl groups, at least two dialkoxyalkylsilyl groups or a mixture of two or more trialkoxysilyl groups, and dialkoxyalkylsilyl groups per molecule selected from: (i) (R10)z (R11)3-z Si—(W)—Si (R11)3-z (R10)z; or (ii) 1,3,5-tris[3-((R10)z(R11)3-z Si)-D]-1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6(1H,3H,5H)-trione where each R11 is independently an alkoxy group having 1 to 6 carbons; each R10 is independently R11 or an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbons, z is 0 or 1; W is a linear or branched alkylene having 1 to 12 carbons; and D is an alkylene group having from 1 to 6 carbons; provides CIPGs which show both a good adhesion to aluminium and a good compression set.

    Abstract: A hydrosilylation curable textile coating composition comprises: (a) a linear organopolysiloxane polymer having at least two alkenyl and/or alkynyl groups per molecule; (b) a reinforcing filler comprising at least one of fumed silica, precipitated silica, or calcium carbonate; (c) a linear trimethyl terminated polydimethyl methylhydrogen siloxane containing at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen groups per molecule; Ld) a hydrosilylation cure catalyst; (e) an organosilicon resin; and (f) an adhesion promoter comprising a mixture and/or reaction product of: (i) one or more alkoxysilanes having an epoxy group in the molecule; (ii) a linear organopolysiloxane oligomer containing at least one alkenyl group and at least one hydroxy or alkoxy group per molecule; and (iii) an organometallic condensation reaction catalyst comprising organoaluminum or organozirconium compounds. Air bags and air bag fabrics can be coated with the hydrosilylation curable textile coating composition, and the resulting air bags and fabrics generally have enhanced scrub resistance.
