Abstract: A vapor recovery system for the controlled adsorption and desorption cycling of fuel vapors in an internal combustion engine comprising at least two vapor adsorbent beds connected in series to the fuel bowl of the engine carburetor and to the fuel tank with the adsorbent bed nearest to the source of fuel vapor becoming the most saturated during an adsorption cycle; and, throttle-controlled valve conduits connecting the absorbent beds to the fuel-air induction conduit of the carburetor whereby the least loaded adsorbent bed is purged during low engine loads but, as the throttle is opened to the full open position, all of the adsorbent beds will be purged.
