Abstract: Power systems are disclosed. The power system may include at least one computing device in communication with a control circuit including a plurality of electrical loops. The computing device(s) may be configured to test each of the plurality of electrical loops of the control circuit by performing processes including configuring a first electrical loop in a first electrical setting by adjusting an operational characteristic of one or more electrical switch(s) of the first electrical loop. The processes may also include determining an actual electrical status of the first electrical loop in the first electrical setting based on whether a relay of a return line in the first electrical loop detects a supplied voltage. Additionally, the computing device(s) may detect a fault in the first electrical loop in response to the determined actual electrical status of the first electrical loop differing from an expected electrical status of the first electrical loop.

Abstract: A system, in one embodiment, may include a system includes a ground fault detection system. The ground fault detection system includes a linear filter configured to receive one or more signals from a static starter system during operations of the static starter system and to produce a linear filter output. The ground fault detection system further includes a rectifier configured to rectify the linear filter output and to produce a rectifier output, and a gain system configured to multiply the rectifier output by a factor to produce a gain output. The ground fault detection system additionally includes a fault indicator system configured to indicate a ground fault based on the gain output, wherein the ground fault detection system is configured to command an action based on the ground fault.

Abstract: A method for initializing a generator may include sending a field reference voltage to an exciter that may provide a direct current (DC) current and a DC voltage to a rotor of a generator based on a current set point that corresponds to the field reference voltage. The method may then include receiving a voltage feedback signal output by the generator, determining one or more locations of one or more poles of the generator based on the voltage feedback signal, and sending one or more firing signals to one or more switches of a starter after determining the locations of the poles, such that the switches couple the voltage to a stator of the generator.
