Abstract: An adhesive composition comprising a silane-modified epoxy resin, a dicyclopentadiene novolac epoxy resin and a curing agent. The composition shows good oily steel bonding, even in the absence of CTBN rubber or rubber adducts as toughening agents, with good Tg values of the cured resin and good Tg retention after hot wet aging.

Abstract: This invention relates to a use of a non-woven thermoplastic resin in combination with a curable moulding material comprising a fibrous reinforcement material and a thermoset resin material by bringing the thermoplastic resin in contact with the curable moulding material during or following assembly of the moulding material. The thermoplastic resin has a melting point below the gel temperature of the thermoset resin material to reduce the void fraction and increase the ILSS of a cured moulding manufactured from said moulding material forming a laminate structure in comparison to a cured moulding manufactured from said moulding material in which the fabric is absent forming the laminate structure.

Abstract: An improved surface finish on articles moulded from prepregs is obtained by providing a surface finishing film on the surface of the prepreg and a surface venting layer on the surface of the surface finishing film in which the finishing film comprises a flowable tacky resin and the venting layer contains perforations which allow passage of the resin through the venting layer to provide removable adhesion between the surface of the mould and the moulding composition during moulding.
