Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and device for transmitting data. The method includes: determining, after receiving a first message sent by a user equipment, whether first indication information is set, where the first indication information indicates that a server buffers downlink data to be sent to the user equipment; and when determining that the first indication information is set, retaining a signaling connection to the user equipment, and triggering the server that buffers the downlink data to send the downlink data to the user equipment. The method and device for transmitting data according to the embodiments of the present invention can save power of a user equipment.

The present invention discloses a data downlink transmission method and a device, and belongs to the field of communications technologies. The method includes: receiving, by an MTC-IWF device, a first message sent by a server, where the first message includes downlink data that needs to be sent to a user equipment; and acquiring, by the MTC-IWF device, locally stored serving node information of the user equipment, and sending a second message to a serving node of the UE according to the serving node information of the UE, where the second message includes the downlink data that needs to be sent to the user equipment, so that the serving node sends the downlink data to the user equipment.

The present invention discloses a trigger message sending method, device and system, which relate to the field of communications technologies and can resolve a problem that a Machine Type Communications-Inter Working Function MTC-IWF device and a short message service-service center SMS-SC repeatedly send a trigger Trigger message to a user equipment UE. The method includes: receiving, by the MTC-IWF device, a delivery report sent by the SMS-SC, where the delivery report is sent to the MTC-IWF device by the SMS-SC after the SMS-SC fails to send the trigger message to the UE; and waiting, by the MTC-IWF device according to the delivery report, for the SMS-SC to resend the trigger message, or resending, by the MTC-IWF device, the trigger message according to the delivery report. The present invention is mainly used in a process of sending a trigger message.

In transmitting a device trigger message operation, a core network device receives a device trigger message sent by a first device, where the device trigger message includes information that indicates validity time of the device trigger message; when it is determined that a timer exists, compares the validity time with duration of the timer; if the validity time is greater than the duration of the timer, sends the device trigger message to a user equipment UE after the timer times out; and if the validity time is not greater than the duration of the timer, sends a message to the first device and/or discarding the device trigger message, where the message is used to indicate that triggering is rejected, or transmission fails, or device triggering fails.
