Abstract: According to the present invention, grip feeling of an electronic device to which the battery is mounted may be improved by optimizing a shape of a battery, and miniaturization of the electronic device may be promoted at the same time. In order to achieve the above-described object, a battery is disclosed, the battery including: a first surface having a circumference of a closed curve having a curve; a second surface having a circumference of a closed curve having a curve; and a volume portion configured to connect the first surface to the second surface and defining a volume, wherein at least one of the first surface and the second surface has a circumference of the closed curve defined by connecting ends of each of two curves curved in the same direction to each other, and the first surface has an area different from that of the second surface.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a pouch-shaped battery cell configured to have a structure in which an electrode assembly is received in a pouch-shaped battery case together with an electrolytic solution, wherein the pouch-shaped battery case is made of a laminate sheet including a metal layer and a resin layer, an upper edge of the pouch-shaped battery case, from which electrode terminals protrude outward, and opposite side edges of the pouch-shaped battery case, which are adjacent to the upper edge of the pouch-shaped battery case, are thermally fused to constitute a sealed portion of the pouch-shaped battery case, the opposite side edges of the pouch-shaped battery case being bent perpendicularly from the upper edge of the pouch-shaped battery case toward an electrode assembly receiving unit for receiving the electrode assembly, and a protective film is attached so as to wrap the perpendicularly bent opposite side edges of the pouch-shaped battery case.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electrode assembly including a plurality of unit cells, each of which is configured to have a structure including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a single separation sheet disposed between the unit cells while surrounding side surfaces of the unit cells, wherein the unit cells include unit cells wound together with the separation sheet from one end of the separation sheet toward the middle of the separation sheet to constitute a first stack part, unit cells wound together with the separation sheet from the other end of the separation sheet toward the middle of the separation sheet to constitute a second stack part, and a facing unit cell having one surface that contacts the first stack part in the state in which the separation sheet is disposed between the one surface of the facing unit cell and the first stack part and the other surface that contacts the second stack part in the state in which the separation sheet is disposed between the other surface of the facing unit cell and the second stack part, and the unit cells are stacked such that electrodes having opposite polarities are disposed in contact with each other in the state in which the separation sheet is disposed between the respective electrodes.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a battery cell configured to have a structure in which an electrode assembly, including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, is mounted in a battery case, wherein the electrode assembly includes two or more unit cells having different planar sizes, the unit cells being stacked in the height direction on the basis of a plane, at least one unit cell (a) selected from among the unit cells has an asymmetric structure formed on at least one side of the outer edge thereof on the basis of a middle axis crossing a main body of the unit cell (a) when viewed from above, and at least one unit cell (b) selected from among the unit cells has an indented portion indented from at least one side of the unit cell (b) toward the middle of the unit cell (b).
