    Abstract: A display device and a gate driving circuit are disclosed. The display device includes a display panel comprising a plurality of data lines, a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix in which the plurality of data lines and the plurality of gate lines intersect with each other; a system controller that sends image data of an input image to a display driver; and the display driver that drives the display panel by decreasing the number of shifts in gate signals applied to gate lines in a second area as compared with a first area. The first area is an area in which the input image is to be displayed in a first resolution in the display panel, and the second area is an area in which the input image is to be displayed in a second resolution smaller than the first resolution in the display panel.

A display panel includes a plurality of subpixels of a plurality of colors arranged in a matrix form, and a plurality of gate lines and data lines respectively connected to the subpixels.
