    Abstract: The present invention provides a rotary engine comprising: a housing provided with three lobe accommodation parts; a rotor which is provided with two lobes continuously accommodated in the lobe accommodation parts, has an intake storage part communicating with an intake port provided on the front surface-side, and has an exhaust storage part communicating with an exhaust port provided on the rear surface-side; an intake-side housing cover provided with an intake hole communicating with the intake storage part; an exhaust-side housing cover provided with an exhaust hole communicating with the exhaust storage part; and a crankshaft, wherein the flow of an exhaust gas into a stroke chamber during an intake stroke is reduced by preventing the exhaust storage part, at a portion of a section in which the exhaust port is open, from communicating with the exhaust hole during the intake stroke.

    Abstract: A rotary engine having a crankshaft, a housing provided with lobe accommodating portions arranged to surround the crankshaft, and combustion chambers communicating with the lobe accommodating portions, a rotor rotatable eccentrically with respect to the crankshaft and provided with lobes continuously accommodated in the lobe accommodating portions, a housing cover provided with a bearing portion through which the crankshaft is inserted so as to be rotatably supported, and a lubricating unit to supply oil to the bearing portion, wherein the lubricating unit includes an oil pan to accommodate oil therein, an oil pump to pump up oil filled in the oil pan, and an oil supply passage having both ends located in the oil pump and the bearing portion, respectively, is provided. This structure may allow direct and effective lubrication of the bearing portion, and can employ a journal bearing.

    Abstract: A scroll compressor is provided that may include an orbiting scroll, a non-orbiting scroll, a back pressure chamber assembly, a back pressure passage, and a flow resistance portion. The back pressure passage may provide communication between a compression chamber and a back pressure chamber, and the flow resistance portion may be disposed at a middle portion of the back pressure passage to reduce an amount of refrigerant flowing through the back pressure passage. This may reduce a substantial cross-sectional area of the back pressure passage while improving machining of the back pressure passage, thereby decreasing an amount of refrigerant flowing between the compression chamber and the back pressure chamber. Accordingly, pressure pulsation in the back pressure chamber may be lowered and sealing stability between the orbiting scroll and the non-orbiting scroll may be enhanced, thereby improving compression performance.

    Abstract: A scroll compressor may include a back pressure passage that provides communication between a compression chamber and a back pressure chamber to guide refrigerant compressed in the compression chamber partially to the back pressure chamber. The back pressure passage may communicate with the compression chamber through a front end surface of a non-orbiting wrap axially facing an orbiting end plate. Accordingly, when an orbiting scroll tilts, the non-orbiting wrap may be spaced apart from the orbiting end plate to open a scroll back pressure hole, such that the compression chamber and the back pressure chamber communicate with each other to quickly vary pressure in the back pressure chamber to be adaptive to the pressure of the compression chamber. This may result in appropriately adjusting back pressure in the back pressure chamber according to an operating mode and/or operating conditions, thereby increasing a sealing power and suppressing or preventing excessive contact.
