    摘要: An SED is formed by sealing a front-side substrate provided with an image display area having a fluorescent layer on its inside surface, and a back-side substrate provided with a plurality of electron-emitting elements and driving wires for driving the electron-emitting elements, through a rectangular frame-like sidewall. On the outside of the image display area of the front-side substrate, frame-like power supply wiring to apply a high voltage to the image display area through a metal back is formed. In the area of the back-side substrate opposite to the power supply wiring, a bypass member to function as a lightning rod is provided electrically independent of a lower wire.

    摘要: An image display system produces a color image by arranging a color shutter capable of time-divisionally switching a plurality of colors to be displayed, in front of a monochrome image display. This image display system comprises: a self-luminous image display part for time-divisionally displaying monochrome images corresponding to three primary colors; and a color display part for time-divisionally coloring and outputting the monochrome images which formed on the side of the light outgoing surface of the self-luminous image display part and which correspond to the three primary colors. The color display part further comprises: a liquid crystal cell driven by carrying out an optical switching on the basis of the inversion between positive and negative polarities; a transparent electrode formed by dividing the liquid crystal cell into a plurality of parts; and a liquid crystal color shutter capable of optionally setting display colors for a plurality of display regions by means of the transparent electrode, the liquid crystal color shutter displaying different display colors for at least two display regions in an optional time in a driving condition.

    摘要: An image display system produces a color image by arranging a color shutter capable of time-divisionally switching a plurality of colors to be displayed, in front of a monochrome image display. This image display system comprises: a self-luminous image display part for time-divisionally displaying monochrome images corresponding to three primary colors; and a color display part for time-divisionally coloring and outputting the monochrome images which formed on the side of the light outgoing surface of the self-luminous image display part and which correspond to the three primary colors. The color display part further comprises: a liquid crystal cell driven by carrying out an optical switching on the basis of the inversion between positive and negative polarities; a transparent electrode formed by dividing the liquid crystal cell into a plurality of parts; and a liquid crystal color shutter capable of optionally setting display colors for a plurality of display regions by means of the transparent electrode, the liquid crystal color shutter displaying different display colors for at least two display regions in an optional time in a driving condition.

A phosphor screen is formed on the inner surface of the face plate. A reinforced glass plate is provided, opposing the outer surface of the face plate. A resistive layer is provided between the reinforced glass plate and the face plate. The resistive layer has a sheet resistance of 10 &OHgr;/□ or more and is set at an anode potential.

    摘要: The evacuated envelope of an image display apparatus has a rear substrate, a front substrate opposing the rear substrate, and a sidewall interposed between the rear and front substrates. A phosphor screen is formed on the inner surface of the front substrate. Electron-emitting elements are provided on the rear substrate. An indium layer is formed on a sealing surface lying between the front substrate and the sidewall. When the indium layer is heated and melted in a vacuum atmosphere, the front and rear substrates are sealed to each other, with the sidewall interposed between them.
