    摘要: A hand powered rotatable toothbrush is characterized by elements, such as tufts of brush bristles, positionally fixed to the brush head to frictionally engage tooth surfaces and thereby positionally stabilize the brush head so that a distal portion of the brush handle can be longitudinally reciprocated relative to the brush head. One or more rotatable brush members mounted on the brush head are operatively connected to the distal handle portion, as by a rack and pinion, to cause the brush members to be rotated in response to longitudinal handle reciprocation. In one embodiment the rotatable brush member cyclically rotates in opposite directions in response to back and forth linear motion of the handle. In another embodiment the rotation of the brush member is in the same direction, irrespective of the direction in which the handle moves.

    摘要: A pump which will atomize a liquid without dribble is formed of a pump body having a pump chamber with a throat at the bottom thereof; a pump stem and piston assembly disposed in the chamber for reciprocal motion therein, an axial bore being formed through the bottom of said piston and stem terminating in an axial outlet port; a valve member having a top section sealing against said axial port and a bottom section passing through and sealing said throat after the initial operation when said pump is operated; and a spring biasing said valve member upward. The sealing area at the axial port is selected so as to be less than the sealing area at the throat at the bottom of the chamber whereby when a predetermined pressure is reached within the pump chamber the net force exerted on the valve member acts against the spring to open the axial port to the stem causing material to be dispensed at the predetermined pressure without dribbling.

    摘要: A pump dispenser has a body consisting of two hollow cylinders of dissimilar diameters, the diameters of the two cylinders defining an outer boundary of a pump chamber. A piston defines the inner boundary of the pump chamber. The piston also defines a slidable seal with both body diameters and is provided with an aperture which can function as an outlet port on a downstroke and an inlet port port on an upstroke. A stem cooperates with the piston to form a discharge path which can be opened or closed and also cooperates with the aperture to define the ports. The stem is biased to close the discharge port when the dispenser is in rest position.

    摘要: The lower end of a first hollow vertical cylinder is connected to the upper end of a second vertical hollow cylinder of smaller diameter. A first outer hollow stem open at its ends has an intermediately disposed first external enlargement disposed below the top open end of the first cylinder. A hollow vertical main piston is vertically slidable within the first cylinder. A second inner stem has an upper vertical section which extends upwardly through the main piston and through a bore in the first stem. A vertical fluid discharge path is formed between the upper section and the first stem. An integral lower vertical section of the second stem engages the lower end of the main piston. A fluid discharge port is formed between the first section and the stem. A vertical inner piston is slidable in the second cylinder. A first spring normally biases the stems together, closing the discharge port. A second spring causes the discharge port to open during a selected point on the downstroke.

    摘要: A finger operated pump dispenser employing interconnected upper and lower cylinders, first and second pistons disposed in the upper and lower cylinders, a hollow sleeve, and a stem which extends upwardly through the first piston into the sleeve. The first cylinder, the stem and the two pistons define a pump chamber which is filled with fluid. When the dispenser is actuated, fluid is displaced from the chamber into the second cylinder and a port is opened. The port can be made to open at the moment that all of the fluid is displaced into the second cylinder. Once the port is opened, the fluid is discharged and further piston movement enables fluid to be pulled upward out of the container secured to the dispenser via an opening formed between the second piston, stem and inner wall of the second cylinder refilling the chamber. The motions of pistons, stem and sleeve are so controlled that accurate dosage is produced independently of the method of actuation.

    摘要: A finger actuated pump dispenser employs a first upper hollow vertical cylinder with a first diameter and open upper and lower ends and a second lower hollow vertical cylinder with a second and smaller diameter and a closed lower end with a central opening. The lower end of the first cylinder is joined to an open upper end of the second cylinder. The inner wall of the second cylinder has a horizontal annular recess. A first vertical hollow piston has openings in top and bottom ends and extendings slidably above and within first cylinder. The first piston has an enlargement intermediate its ends peripherally engaging and defining a first unbroken seal with the inner surface of the first cylinder. A second vertical piston has a central vertical bore extending therethrough and is disposed slidably within the second cylinder. The second piston peripherally engages and defines a second seal with the inner surface of the second cylinder. The second seal is unbroken except when the second piston is aligned with and spaced from the annular recess. A vertical stem is disposed slidably within the first piston with an outwardly extending central horizontal flange secured thereto intermediate its ends. The bottom opening of the first piston engages and defines a third seal with the flange. The third seal is broken when the bottom opening of the first piston is separated from the flange. A portion of the stem below the flange extends vertically and slidably downwards through the central bore of the second piston. The portion engages and defines a fourth unbroken seal with said bore. A spring extends within the second cylinder between its lower end and the lower end of the second piston.
