摘要: A scroll compressor has a biasing chamber which contains a pressurized fluid. The pressurized fluid within the chamber biases the two scroll members together. A valve assembly is in communication with this biasing chamber and releases the pressurized fluid on demand to remove the load, biasing the two scroll members together. When the biasing load is removed, the two scroll members separate, creating a leakage path between discharge and suction to reduce the capacity of the scroll compressor.

摘要: A scroll compressor is provided and may include an orbiting scroll member having an orbiting end plate and an orbiting spiral wrap extending from the orbiting end plate. The scroll compressor may also include a non-orbiting scroll member having a non-orbiting end plate and a non-orbiting spiral wrap extending from the non-orbiting end plate and intermeshed with the orbiting spiral wrap. The scroll compressor may further include a drive member for causing the orbiting scroll member to orbit relative to the non-orbiting scroll member and a discharge slot formed by one of the orbiting scroll member and the non-orbiting scroll member. A discharge valve may be rotatable with the drive member and may operate between a closed state preventing fluid communication between the pockets and the discharge slot and an open state permitting fluid communication between the pockets and the discharge slot.

摘要: A scroll compressor includes an orbiting scroll member having an orbiting end plate defining a discharge port and an orbiting spiral wrap extending from the orbiting end plate. The compressor also includes a non-orbiting scroll member having a non-orbiting end plate and a non-orbiting spiral wrap extending from the non-orbiting end plate. The non-orbiting spiral wrap is intermeshed with the orbiting spiral wrap. Furthermore, a bearing housing extends from the non-orbiting end plate opposite from the non-orbiting spiral wrap, and a drive member causes the orbiting scroll member to orbit relative to the non-orbiting scroll member whereby said spiral wraps create pockets of progressively changing volume between a suction pressure zone and a discharge pressure zone. The drive member extends through the bearing housing, the non-orbiting scroll member and the orbiting scroll member. Also, the scroll compressor includes a discharge valve for controlling fluid flow through the discharge port.

摘要: A refrigeration system can incorporate a cooling-liquid injection system that can inject a cooling liquid into an intermediate-pressure location of the compressor. The cooling liquid can absorb the heat of compression during the compression of the refrigerant flowing therethrough. The refrigeration system can include an economizer system that injects a refrigerant vapor into an intermediate-pressure location of the compressor in conjunction with the injection of the cooling liquid. A refrigeration system can include a liquid-refrigerant injection system that can inject liquid refrigerant into an intermediate-pressure location of the compressor. The injected liquid refrigerant can reduce the discharge temperature of the refrigerant. The liquid-refrigerant injection system can be used with the cooling-liquid injection system and/or the economizer system.

摘要: A refrigeration system can incorporate a liquid-injection system that can provide a cooling liquid to an intermediate-pressure location of the compressor. The cooling liquid can absorb the heat of compression during the compression of the refrigerant flowing therethrough. The refrigeration system can include an economizer circuit that injects a refrigerant vapor into an intermediate-pressure location of the compressor in conjunction with the injection of the cooling liquid. The incorporation of the vapor injection in conjunction with the cooling-liquid injection can advantageously increase the cooling capacity and/or efficiency of the refrigeration system and the performance of the compressor.

摘要: A fluid compression circuit may include a compression mechanism, a volume, a heat exchanger, a fluid conduit, a thermoelectric device, and a heat-transfer device. The compression mechanism includes first and second members cooperating to form a fluid pocket. The volume receives discharge fluid from the fluid pocket. The heat exchanger is in communication with the volume. The fluid conduit is connected to at least one of the volume and the heat exchanger. The thermoelectric device may include a first side in heat-transfer relation with a member at least partially defining the volume and a second side in heat-transfer relation with ambient air and cooperating with the first side to define a temperature gradient generating electrical current in the thermoelectric device. The heat-transfer device may receive electrical current generated by the thermoelectric device and may be in heat-transfer relation with at least one of the heat exchanger and the fluid conduit.
