Abstract:
A door (6), for example in a vehicle, is mounted at one edge (8) for acurate movement about the axis of a shaft (16), and at the other edge (10) for displacement substantially in the plane of the door opening along rails (26, 28). Thus, on opening, the edge (8) swings outwards from the door opening before moving longitudinally away from the door opening, with the edge (10) being guided along the rails (26 and 28).

Abstract:
A process and equipment for producing multi-color concrete products, including architectural concrete blocks, concrete bricks, modular concrete products that are suitable for use in landscaping applications, such as retaining wall blocks, concrete pavers, and concrete slabs. The invention includes a spray mechanism that sprays liquid pigment onto concrete discharged from a hopper. The concrete then proceeds to a blending mechanism which blends the pigment into the concrete to produce a multi-color concrete blend. The concrete blend is then used to produce multi-colored concrete products.
Abstract:
Molds and processes that permit high-speed, mass production of retaining wall blocks having patterned or other processed front faces, as well as retaining wall blocks formed by such processes. The invention permits the front face of the block to be impressed with a pattern or otherwise directly processed, to allow the formation of pre-determined block front faces, while at the same time facilitating high-speed, high-volume production of blocks. Pre-determined front faces can include front faces having pre-determined patterns and textures, front faces having pre-determined shapes, front faces made from different material(s) than the remainder of the block, and combinations thereof.
Abstract:
A computer system comprising a plurality of data processing elements connected through a shared communication bus to a memory so that for a given computer cycle at least one of the elements assumes control of the bus for accessing address in memory. The computer system having memory access circuitry connected between the data processing elements and memory which has first and second buffer units for storing prefetched bursts of data from the memory. The buffer circuit also having control logic for prefetching data in sequential bursts from the memory and storing the prefetched burst in the first or second buffer units and the control logic monitors the buffer units and the address to be accessed in memory to determine in which buffer the next fetched burst should be stored.
Abstract:
A computerized system and method for managing work in process is provided. Case specific information, including information from an initial transaction is electronically entered into a database and automatically linked with a work source index which includes basic client information. Input information residing in externally generated documents is scanned into the system as images for subsequent display or conversion to textual data. As work is performed on the case, the system tracks its progress and provides a variety of support functions. An electronic activity log function maintains a record of key activities involved in the processing of work items.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel dosimeter filter and a dosimeter incorporating the same. More specifically, one embodiment of the invention relates to a very thin dosimetry device generally comprising: an optically stimulated luminescent material OSLM (i.e. aluminum oxide) sandwiched between at least two novel CEEC filters, wherein each CEEC filter comprises two layers of filtering material: an electronic equilibrium filter layer and an energy compensation filter layer wherein the electronic equilibrium filters comprise steel and wherein the energy compensation filters comprise Tantalum.
Abstract:
A souvenir 10 has a display portion 21 upon which is incorporated a three dimensional profile of a representation or display 40 of a memory evokable element, such as an iconic geographical location, cityscape, building, event, structure or person in positive or male profile. A complementary removable covering portion 20 has incorporated therein a negative or female profile of the representation or display 40, allowing the souvenir to be cast from either one of the portions 20, 21 should one of the portions become lost. A recess 51 is located within the display portion 21 for retaining a relic 52 taken from or closely associated with the memory evokable element displayed on the display portion 21. When assembled, the two portions show on the sides silhouettes of the representation or display, to further evoke viewer memories.
