Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for improving voice over new radio (VoNR)-to-voice over long term evolution (VoLTE). An example method generally includes communicating with and camping on a next generation node B (gNB) in a 5G new radio (NR) system; initiating a voice call with the gNB; receiving a 5G NR-to-long term evolution (LTE) handover command in response to initiating the voice call; performing a handover procedure in response to the handover command; detecting a failure in the handover procedure; and taking one or more actions in response to detecting the failure in the handover procedure.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for optimizing real time services (e.g., such as a voice over Long Term Evolution (LTE) (VoLTE)) for devices with limited communications resources, such as machine type communication (MTC) devices and enhanced MTC (eMTC) devices. In one aspect, a UE determines a first configuration of subframes within at least one radio frame available for the UE and other UEs to use for bundled communications with a BS. The UE receives an indication of one or more subframes within the at least one radio frame that are unavailable for bundled uplink transmissions, and determines a second configuration of subframes to use for bundled communications based on the indication. The UE overrides the first configuration of subframes with the second configuration of subframes, and communicates with the BS using the second configuration of subframes. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a P2P device discovers other P2P devices that belong to a P2P group. The P2P device calculates a reachability vector that indicates each discovered P2P device within a threshold number of P2P hops. The P2P device receives reachability vector(s) for each proximate P2P device in a set of proximate P2P devices discovered via the P2P discovery procedure. The P2P device ranks the P2P device and each proximate P2P device in the set of proximate P2P devices based on the calculated and received reachability vectors. The P2P device identifies a leader (e.g., the P2P device itself and/or one or more of the other P2P devices) that is responsible for performing a floor arbitration function for a P2P session from the ranked P2P devices based on the rankings, and participates in the P2P session by exchanging media in accordance with the floor arbitration function performed by the leader.
