摘要: This invention relates to isolated polynucleotides encoding WUS polypeptides. The invention further provides isolated WUS polypeptides. The invention also provides methods of using the polynucleotides to modulate the level of WUS, improve transformation efficiency, to stimulate plant cell growth, including stem cells, to stimulate organogenesis, to stimulate somatic embryogenesis, to induce apomixis, and to provide a positive selection for cells comprising the polynucleotide. The invention also relates to cells, plants and seeds comprising the polynucleotides of the invention or produced by the methods of the invention.

The invention also relates to the construction of a chimeric gene encoding all or a portion of the WUS protein, in sense or antisense orientation, wherein expression of the chimeric gene results in production of altered levels of the WUS protein in a transformed host cell.

摘要: Recombinant constructs useful for reducing the expression of endogenous mRNA and any substantially similar endogenous mRNA are disclosed. In particular, a recombinant construct comprising, inter alia, a suitable nucleic acid sequence and its reverse complement can be used to alter the expression of any homologous, endogenous RNA (i.e., the target RNA) which is in proximity to this suitable nucleic acid sequence.

摘要: Methods and mixtures for providing a composition of interest to a plant cell are provided. Methods using a mixture of particles are provided, wherein the mixture includes at least one nanoparticle associated with a microparticle via a lipid compound. Methods include methods for plant cell transformation, methods to increase transformation frequency, methods to increase gene targeting, and methods for plastid transformation. The nanoparticle comprises at least one composition of interest. Also provided are transformed plant cells, plants, and seeds produced using the methods and mixtures described herein. Further provided are the methods of making and using the mixtures of particles.
