摘要: A computer display device with digital RGB color signal lines, and horizontal and vertical synchronous signal lines. The controller comprising a means for taking out, from one of the digital RGB color signal lines which consists of an N bit digital signal, a black level signal defined as "0" or "1" in all N bits, and a means for adding the black level signal being taken out to either one of said horizontal and vertical synchronous signal lines. In addition to the controller, the present invention provides a display device including a means, provided within the display device, for extracting said black level signal from the synchronous signal with the black level signal being added, and a means for maintaining a black level potential of the display device at a predetermined value in response to the black level signal being extracted.

摘要: The life time of a CRT is extended by decreasing the temperature of the cathode by 7-30% from the normal operating temperature and by applying a constant voltage signal to a cathode of the CRT which is shifted from a first voltage level for displaying the lowest luminance of the image toward a second voltage level for displaying the highest luminance of the image. The shift is of the order of 5-25%, so that a constant anode current in the range of 2-14 uA flows in the CRT.

摘要: The objects of the present invention are achieved by forming a high voltage generating circuit which comprises: a flyback transformer having a primary winding and a secondary winding; means for supplying pulses of first frequency to the primary winding; a smoothing capacitor connected across the secondary winding; an output line connected to one terminal of the smoothing capacitor; means for detecting a variation of high voltage on the output line to generate compensating voltage pulses of a second frequency which is higher than the first frequency for compensating the variation of high voltage to supply the compensating voltage pulses to the other terminal of the smoothing capacitor. Additionally, a low pass filter is connected between the other terminal of the smoothing capacitor and the secondary winding, which prevents the compensating voltage pulses from being supplied to the secondary winding. Further, a capacitor is connected between the other terminal of the smoothing capacitor and a reference potential. Moreover, the first frequency is equal to a horizontal deflection frequency of a cathode ray tube, and the second frequency is N times as large as the first frequency, wherein N is integer larger than 1. The first frequency could also be 1/N times as small as a horizontal deflection frequency, wherein N is integer larger than 1, and the second frequency is equal to the horizontal deflection frequency. Finally, the output line is connected to an anode of a cathode ray tube.

摘要: A portable information processing apparatus, having a detachable liquid crystal display panel/input tablet, whereof the liquid crystal display panel/input tablet can be detached from the apparatus even when the main body is powered on, i.e., is being operated. The portable information processing apparatus comprises: support means for detachably supporting a liquid crystal display panel on a main body; detection means for detecting detachment/attachment of the liquid crystal display panel; and first and second connectors for providing a connection for video signal lines and a power line that connect the liquid crystal display panel and the main body. When the liquid crystal display panel is detached from the main body, the first and the second connectors can communicate with each other via a cable. When the detection means detects that the liquid crystal display panel has been detached, the output of video signals from the main body to the display panel is disabled, and then the power supply to the liquid crystal display panel is halted (local suspend). As a result, the disorderly open state of the signal output line and the power line to the display panel is avoided, and the deterioration of hardware is prevented. In parallel to the local suspend operation, the main body of the apparatus saves data required for the resumption of a task, and halts the operation of the entire system (system suspend).
