Abstract: An electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention includes: a memory which stores one or more mapping parameters that indicate the correlation between a voltage change amount and the state of health (SOH) of the battery; and a processor, wherein the processor can be set to: detect that an external device for charging the battery is connected to the electronic device; charge the battery by using a charging current supplied from the external device; decide on at least one mapping parameter among the one or more mapping parameters on the basis of at least the charging current; check the voltage change amount of the battery while the battery is being charged; and acquire the SOH of the battery at least partially on the basis of the at least one mapping parameter and the voltage change amount.

Abstract: A battery and an electronic device including a battery are provided. The battery includes a case including a first face and a second face; a first unit cell including a first cathode, a first separator, and a first anode, the first anode having a characteristic of a first electrical conductivity when the first unit cell is discharged; and a plurality of second unit cells, each including a second cathode, a second separator, and a second anode, the second anode having a characteristic of a second electrical conductivity lower than the first electrical conductivity when the plurality of second unit cells are discharged. The plurality of second unit cells are disposed within the case to be adjacent to the first face and the second face, respectively, and the first unit cell is interposed between the plurality of second unit cells.

Abstract: A lithium ion battery is provided. The lithium ion battery includes a cathode, an anode, an electrolyte, and a separator interposed between the cathode and the anode, wherein the cathode includes, as active materials, a first LiCoO2 (LCO), a second LCO, and LiCoxMnyFezPO4 having a coating layer on the surface thereof, the first LCO has a first size, the second LCO has a second size smaller than the first size such that the second LCO is arranged in the cavities formed by the first LCO, and the LiCoxMnyFezPO4 has a third size smaller than both the first size and the second size such that the LiCoxMnyFezPO4 is arranged in the cavities formed by at least one of the first LCO and the second LCO, and the LiCoxMnyFezPO4 has the composition ratio of x+y+z=1 (with a proviso of 0.5≤y≤1).

The first areas do not overlap each other when viewed from the top of the battery cell, and the second areas are coupled to each other.
