Abstract: A backlight module includes a pixel driver integrated circuit (PDIC) configured to generate a switch control signal and a pulse control signal, the pulse control signal including timing information and dimming data, a pixel integrated circuit (PIC) configured to generate a pulse modulation signal based on the pulse control signal, a switch group configured to transfer a driving voltage based on the switch control signal, and a backlight unit (BLU) including a first end connected to the switch group and a second end connected to the PIC, the BLU configured to emit light on a panel based on the driving voltage and the pulse modulation signal, where the PDIC is configured to generate the switch control signal and the pulse control signal such that a light emitting diode emits light at a time point at which a pixel of the panel operates.

Abstract: A backlight system includes a plurality of pixel ICs respectively including a plurality of channels connected to a plurality of LEDs and that control the LEDs to be turned on and off through the channels, and a driver IC connected to the pixel ICs and that supplies a data signal to each of the pixel ICs. The pixel ICs include a first pixel IC connected to first LEDs and a second pixel IC connected to second LEDs. The first pixel IC turns the first LEDs on or off in a first order based on first control data included in the data signal, and the second pixel IC turns the second LEDs on or off in a second order different from the first order based on second control data included in the data signal.

Abstract: An apparatus for detecting biometric information of a living body detects a pulse wave and extracts the biometric information of the living body in a non-invasive method. The apparatus for detecting biometric information includes a surface pulse wave measurement unit for measuring a surface pulse wave of an object. The surface pulse wave measurement unit includes at least one light source that radiates incoherent light and at least one photodetector that measures an intensity of light radiated by the at least one light source and reflected from a surface of the object. The surface pulse wave measurement unit measures the surface pulse wave of the object based on a change in the intensity of the light reflected from the surface of the object.
