摘要: A method rapidly cools meat by exposure to a rapid cooling temperature of no more than about −10° C. for sufficient time to provide a frozen crust on the meat and chills the resultant crust-frozen meat by exposure of said crust-frozen meat to a chilling temperature greater than the rapid cooling temperature but no more than about +10° C. to raise the temperature of the surface of the meat and to maintain said surface at a temperature no higher than the freezing temperature of the meat for at least sufficient time to injure lethally and/or kill bacteria, thereby reducing the viability of bacteria on meat. The method has particular application in the processing of poultry meat to kill bacteria comprising the Campylobacter and/or Salmonella species. The meat is disinfected in a non-intrusive manner, leaving the meat in as natural a state as possible.

摘要: A handheld tool for removing soft material from an object includes a scoop portion supported by longitudinal handle portion. The scoop portion has a concave wall extending upwardly from a bottom to terminate in a rim edge. The rim edge may have a first edge portion on a first lateral side so as to form forming a first cutting edge with a first cutting characteristic, a second edge portion on a second lateral side so as to form forming a second cutting edge with a second cutting characteristic, and a third edge portion extending transversely of the longitudinal axis to form a third cutting edge. The scoop portion may be rotatably supported on the handle portion. The handle portion may have a proximal portion supporting the scoop and a flattened distal portion offset from the proximal portion. A transverse ridge may be located proximately to the scoop portion.

摘要: A method for determining the flow rate of a fluid, having a liquid fraction and a gas fraction, comprising the steps of: measuring the pressure and temperature of said fluid at a flow control device through which said cyrogenic fluid passes; inputting said measured pressure and Cv into an algorithm; and performing a single or multi-step iteration to determine a fluid mass flow rate of the fluid through said flow control device using said algorithm that relates the mass flow rate of said fluid to said Cv, and mass densities of said liquid fraction and said gas fraction of said fluid which are a function of said measured pressure, and temperature. A system is also provided.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided that relate to determining the phase compositions of a multiphase fluid flow in a fluid line, including determining a flow velocity parameter which is related to the flow velocity of the fluid flow in the fluid line using a flow sensor and obtaining a vibration signal from the fluid flow using a vibration sensor comprising a target disposed in the fluid flow which vibrates in response to fluid flow in the fluid line. The signal may be analyzed to determine an energy parameter which is related to the energy of the vibration signal within a frequency band, and a phase composition parameter, such as a dryness parameter, relating to the phase compositions of the fluid flow is determined using the flow velocity parameter and the energy parameter. An apparatus for determining the phase compositions of a multiphase fluid flow in a fluid line is disclosed.
