摘要:
The invention relates to an apparatus for thermal development comprising a receiving chamber for a thrust cartridge, drive means to advance thermal film from said thrust cartridge and rewind film into said thrust cartridge, a magnetic reader and writer to read and write magnetic information onto the film, an accumulator to gather said film after it has left the cartridge, a heater located between said chamber and said accumulator to develop said thermal film as it passes between said cartridge and said accumulator, an optical scanner to produce an electronic file representation of the film image information, and a lighttight container for said chamber, heater, and accumulator.

A camera-speed color photothermographic imaging method is disclosed. A photothermographic film is employed that contains a photographically responsive, thermally developable panchromatically sensitized emulsion layer unit capable of concurrently forming silver and dye image densities. The emulsion layer unit is exposed in three separate image capture areas to blue, green or red light received from the photographic subject to create latent images of blue, green and red light exposure. The photothermographic element is thermally processed to produce images of the same hue in each of the three separate image capture areas. The images of blue, green and red light exposures are then converted into a corresponding additive or subtractive primary hue, and integrated to provide a positive or negative color image of the photographic subject.

A head transducer, configured to interact with a magnetic recording medium, includes a first sensor having a temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) and configured to produce a first sensor signal, and a second sensor having a TCR and configured to produce a second sensor signal. One of the first and second sensors is situated at or near a close point of the head transducer in relation to the magnetic recording medium, and the other of the first and second sensors spaced away from the close point. Circuitry is configured to combine the first and second sensor signals and produce a combined sensor signal indicative of one or both of a change in head-medium spacing and head-medium contact. Each of the sensors may have a TCR with the same sign (positive or negative) or each sensor may have a TCR with a different sign.

A disc drive slider includes a slider body and a rail formed on the slider body. The rail includes a bearing surface which faces a surface of a disc. A textured portion is formed on the bearing surface of the rail. Pads are deposited on the textured portions. The pads operate to reduce stiction, dynamic friction, and the likelihood of damage to the slider or the surface of the disc due to contact therebetween.
