摘要: An antenna device capable of increasing the speed of scanning as well as extending the scanning angular range of a beam to obtain a high gain. A radar module and a communication apparatus having enhanced detection capabilities obtainable by using the antenna device. In the antenna device, electromagnetic waves radiated from a primary radiator are transmitted to a plurality of openings, e.g., dielectric lenses and/or reflectors or optical transmitters. The dielectric openings are arranged on a fixed portion and the primary radiator is arranged on a moving portion. The moving portion is displaced relatively with respect to the fixed portion. This arrangement enables the selection of an opening used for receiving each of the electromagnetic waves from the primary radiator to change the direction of the beam.

摘要: In a non-radiative dielectric line, slots opposing each other are respectively formed on two conductive plates and a dielectric strip is disposed within both the slots to form a NRD guide. Convex portions “P” protruding in the lateral direction to the propagating direction of an electromagnetic wave are formed at a predetermined position of the dielectric strip 3 while concave portions “H” are formed on internal surfaces of the slots in the conductive plates 1 and 2 so as to mate the both of them with each other. Variations in characteristics due to the positional slippage of the dielectric strip and so forth are prevented, and even when the dielectric strip is produced by machining, etc., the process is easily performed. Characteristics as a transmission line are also maintained without disturbing the electromagnetic field distribution in a mode to be propagated.

摘要: A nonradiative dielectric waveguide filter of the present invention permits the manufacturing process including the production of a dielectric strip to be simpler. The filter can be formed by a pillar dielectric strip. The nonradiative dielectric waveguide filter includes resonators, input-output connection units, and cut-off regions, in which the upper and lower conductor plates and a dielectric strip disposed therebetween form the filter. In one example, the main signal-transmitting mode is the LSM mode; a groove having a bottom and conductor walls is disposed in a position in which the conductor plates are opposing; the resonator is formed by fitting the dielectric strip into the groove; and the cut-off regions are formed by second grooves formed in the conductor plates adjacent to the dielectric strip.

摘要: In a directional coupler comprising two separated dielectric guides, reflection and loss in the separation position (separated faces) is reduced. Furthermore, the beam of an antenna device comprising a primary emitter and a dielectric lens can be tilted quickly even by a low-torque motor. A moving portion and a fixed portion each comprise dielectric guides, and in addition, grooves are provided in opposing end faces of conductive plates thereof, at a distance from the electrode faces of the dielectric guides of approximately an integral multiple of half the wavelength of the transmitted waves. Furthermore, the dielectric guide of the directional coupler portion is a normal NRD guide, and the dielectric guide of another portion is a hyper NRD guide.

摘要: A dielectric line converter which includes a dielectric stripline; an upper conductor surface and a lower conductor surface sandwiching the dielectric stripline; the upper and lower conductor surfaces having a first spacing in a first region along the dielectric stripline so as to form a first-kind dielectric line, a second spacing which is substantially zero in a second region so as to form a second-kind dielectric line, and a third spacing which is less than the first spacing in a line conversion region between the first and second regions. Grooves may be formed in the opposing surfaces of the upper and lower conductor surfaces, and the dielectric stripline may be arranged in the grooves. Impedance matching between the first-kind and second-kind dielectric lines is arranged n the line conversion region. The length of the line conversion portion may be set to be an odd multiple of &lgr;/4.
