    摘要: The present invention discloses an apparatus for suppressing stimulated Brillouin scattering and the method thereof that a threshold fiber input power is raised in order to prevent loss of an inputted light by stimulated Brillouin scattering being generated in a case that a signal having a strong intensity is inputted to the optical fiber and so a light signal having more strong intensity can be inputted to the optical fiber. The apparatus for suppressing the SBS includes a plurality of first transmission unit, each of which has a wavelength separation, for transmitting information signals through a signal channel; and a second transmission unit for generating and transmitting a supervisory signal of which a modulation frequency and an intensity generates a phase modulation to the plurality of information signals, through a supervisory channel. The modulation frequency and the intensity of the supervisory signal are modulated in phase to the information signals by a cross phase modulation effect, thereby broadening a line width of the information signal.

    摘要: Provided are an apparatus for optimizing bias voltage of an electro-optic modulator, a method therefor, and an optical transmission system using the method. The present research provides a bias voltage optimizing apparatus of an electro-optic modulator that can stabilize bias voltage supplied to the electro-optic modulator through automatic bias voltage initialization control by considering the point that the form of an optical output signal and the intensity of a clock component are changed according to the bias voltage of the electro-optic modulator, a method therefor and an optical transmission system using the method. The apparatus includes: a clock extracting unit for extracting a clock frequency component from the frequency components in a wideband spectrum of the electro-optic modulator; a control unit for finding a point of the lowest electric intensity by detecting an electric intensity of the extracted frequency component and controlling the bias voltage adaptively by changing the bias voltage; and a bias voltage adjusting unit for controlling the bias voltage of the electro-optic modulator under the control of the bias voltage controlling unit.

The optical communication system includes: a service-provider device; a local node; and a plurality of subscriber devices. The service-provider device includes: a plurality of first optical transceivers; a first optical multiplexer/demultiplexer (OD/OM) connected to the plurality of first optical transceivers; and a seed-light source providing seed light. Each subscriber device includes a second optical transceiver. The local node connects the service-provider device and the plurality of subscriber devices to each other using a DWDM link comprising: a second multiplexer/demultiplexer (OD/OM); and a single-mode optical fiber for transmission. Here, the optical intensity of an output signal of the second optical transceiver is determined by compensating for the value of the loss caused when the output signal passes through the second OD/OM of the local node.

    摘要: A method and circuit control a quiescent current of an amplifier including a preamplifier, error amplifiers, and output devices driven by the error amplifiers, the error amplifiers having an input-referred offset voltage. The method includes (a) applying a calibration voltage to an input of the error amplifiers, (b) calibrating a quiescent current of the output devices by changing the calibration voltage so that the calibrated quiescent current has a predetermined current value, the calibration voltage corresponding to the calibrated quiescent current being set as a correction voltage, and (c) operating the amplifier with the correction voltage applied to the input of the error amplifiers. The circuit includes a correction voltage generator supplying a correction voltage to the error amplifier input, a quiescent current detector detecting the quiescent current, and a calibration circuit adjusting the correction voltage so that the quiescent current is calibrated to a predetermined current value.
