The internal combustion engine further includes an intake manifold for supplying air to the combustion chamber and an exhaust manifold for drawing exhaust gas from the combustion chamber. The flow dynamics of the internal combustion engine are improved by including textured surfaces on one or more of the piston top, the cylinder head, the intake valve, the intake port, the exhaust valve, the intake manifold, the exhaust manifold, or the fuel supplier. The textured surface may include indentations, protrusions, or combinations.

The grooved aperture (10) consists of an opening of a minor diameter with a helical shape having a 45 degree slope and a flat bottom major diameter spaced at approximately 0.25″ itch diameter. This creates a 45 degree screw pitch through the thickness of spacing block (12). At the top and bottom of grooved aperture (10) consists of two chambers of 45 degrees starting at the major diameter and ending at the minor diameter of the helical shape.

    摘要: An elongated fuel-air bypass is connected between an outlet port of a fuel-air mixing device and an inlet port of an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. The elongated bypass apparatus includes an elongated bypass conduit formed of a thermally conductive material and which has sufficient length, exterior surface area and thermal conductivity to enable it to cause liquid fuel introduced through the fuel-air mixing device to change from a liquid state to a gaseous state prior entry into the one or more cylinders of the internal combustion engine. Turbulence creating mechanisms, such as venturis or baffles, are provided in the elongated bypass conduit for creating turbulence in the fuel-air mixture flowing therethrough. An after-air supply tube is provided to supply after-air near an upstream end of the fuel-air bypass conduit, and is controlled by an after-air valve to provide for a lean fuel-air mixture. Also provided is a liquid additive system for supplying water and/or alcohol into the fuel-air bypass conduit. A start-up fuel injection system is provided to inject a burst of fuel into the fuel-air bypass conduit at initial start-up of the internal combustion engine. At least one reparticulation reservoir is provided in the bottom of a portion of the fuel-air bypass conduit in order to enable quick start-up of the engine after flooding.

    摘要: A device for use in an air intake path of an internal combustion engine to improve the engine performance. The device body has a top surface, bottom surface and at least one air passage defined about an axis from the top surface-to the bottom surface, containing a chamfer at each end. The upper portion of the passage surface contains a plurality of V-shaped veins about the axis of the passage. The lower portion of the passage narrows in diameter to a point equal to or greater than the vein extension in the upper portion. The lower portion also defines a grooved surface starting at it's beginning having a 60 degree slope edge and a flat bottom major diameter spaced in such a manner as to have a helical shape and to circumscribe the passage wall terminating prior to the end of the lower passage.

    摘要: An apparatus for controlling the amount of intake air to an engine comprises a throttle body, a throttle valve disposed in the body, a bypass passage that bypasses the throttle valve. The throttle body forms a part of the air intake passage for the engine. In one embodiment of the invention, a guide passage is formed in the throttle body and extends upwardly from the bypass passage. The open end of the guide passage is disposed above the center line of the inside of the throttle body. In another embodiment of the invention, a barrier such as a protrusion or groove is formed in the inner surface of the throttle body and disposed above the open end of the bypass passage to prevent fuel, oil, and other substances from flowing into the bypass passage.
