    摘要: An enhanced performance earstem for eyeglasses is provided that can incorporate one or more flex zones or points along the length of the earstem. In some embodiments, the earstem can comprise an elongate body having an anterior end and a posterior end and at least a first segment and a second segment on the body having a first flex zone or point disposed at least partially therebetween. A center of the first flex zone or point can be within a given range from the anterior end. Further, some embodiments can provide differential flexibility along the length of the earstem. For example, the body of the earstem can have plurality of relatively flexible zones, and each flexible zone can be separated from an adjacent flexible zone by a relatively rigid zone. In this regard, the relatively flexible zones can have different stiffnesses.

    摘要: An elastic hinge (40), in particular for spectacle frames, has first and second hinge elements (50, 60) rotatably mounted around a pivot (45), a cam profile (53) integral with the first hinge element, a bearing piece (65) movably mounted in the second hinge element along an elastic translation axis. The bearing piece has a first contact area co-operating with the cam profile to give the hinge at least one stable position, and provides a lock for the hinge when a position of excessive opening is reached. The lock includes a protrusion (53-4) of the cam profile arranged for co-operating with a second contact area (65-2) of the bearing piece by exerting, essentially on the bearing piece, a force substantially perpendicular to the translation axis thereof.

    摘要: An elastic glasses temple includes a connector, a temple body having a round hook in a front end to pivotally connected to the connector, a sleeve fitting around a front portion of the temple body with a coil spring fitted in a second hole formed in a rear portion of the sleeve, a coil spring and a position member combined together. The position member is fixed on the temple body, fitting in a rear end of the sleeve. When the temple body is forced to swing outward by exterior force, with a screw fitting in said round hook as a pivot, the sleeve is pushed to move rearward to compress the coil spring to absorb exterior force to permit the temple body swing outward. The temple body swings back after exterior force disappears with resilience of the the coil spring. Then this temple can suit to any sizes of users' faces.

    摘要: An eyeglass assembly is provided with a lens frame and a pair of earpieces each pivotally coupled to the lens frame by a hinge. A first hinge portion defines a first outwardly facing surface and an arm portion extending outwardly beyond the first outwardly facing surface. A second hinge portion is associated with the other of the lens frame and a respective earpiece, and includes an end portion defining a second outwardly facing surface. The end portion is coupled to the arm portion about a pivot axis extending through the arm portion and end portion. The first and second outwardly facing surfaces are contoured for frictionally and slidably engaging one another to permit pivoting of each earpiece relative to the lens frame within an arc of approximately 180.degree. about the pivot axis from a folded position to a spread position where the free ends of the earpieces are substantially facing away from one another.

    摘要: An elastic spectacle frame comprises, on one side, a male charnier consisting of one end of a rod (12) solid with the middle part of a transverse connecting hinge pin (14), and a bearing surface (26) facing at least each portion of the pin protruding from the rod. The pin and the bearing surface being normally biased towards one another in the longitudinal direction of the rod by an elastic biasing mechanism (20,30,32), but are selectively movable apart from one another against the action of the elastic biasing mechanism. On the other side, the hinge comprises a female charnier (42,52) having eyelets (45,55) whose periphery, against which the surface comes to bear, is in the form of a cam, wherein at least one of the eyelets has a radial passageway (46,56), and wherein the interstice (49,59) between the eyelets is at least as big as the rod (12). A passageway (46), at least as big as the rod (12) and directed facing the bearing surface (26), is provided in one of the two eyelets (45) of the female charnier (42). The interstice (59) between the eyelets (55) is at least as big as the diameter of the pin (14) and as the largest cross-sectional dimension of the rod, and a passageway (56) directed facing away from the bearing surface (26), and at least as big as the pin's diameter, is provided in each of the female charnier's two eyelets (55).

    摘要: A spectacle frame which is low in height when folded, which is made up of a smaller number of parts and can be assembled efficiently at a low cost. Each auxiliary temple is connected to a mounting piece fixed to a lens frame so that it can be folded downward from the position in which it extends rearwardly from the mounting piece. When it is bent downward, it is resiliently urged upward. A main temple is connected to the rear end of each auxiliary temple so that it can be bend downward from the position in which it extends rearward from the auxiliary temple. Each auxiliary temple houses mechanisms for keeping the auxiliary temple in a predetermined position relative to the mounting piece and for keeping the main temple in a predetermined position relative to the auxiliary temple. It is thus possible to use the same parts for both these mechanisms and thus to reduce the number of parts of the entire spectacles.
