摘要： An apparatus and method for forming a sheet of material into a flower pot or flower pot cover with fins. The apparatus comprises a male mold, a female mold having an opening mating with the male mold, and means for moving the male mold into and out of the opening of the female mold with the sheet of material between the two molds. To form outwardly extending fins in the flower pot cover, fingers are extended from the male mold to push folds in the sheet of material between segments of the female mold. The female segments are closed on the folds to form fins in the sheet of material as the male mold is pressed into the female mold to make the flower pot cover. To form inwardly extending fins, fingers are moved between the female segments to push folds in the sheet of material between segments of the male mold. The segments of the male mold close on the folds to form fins in the sheet of the material as the male mold is pressed into the female mold to make the flower pot cover.

摘要： An advanced food container includes a ring frame, a bottom panel and a removable lid. The ring frame includes a tapered wall with a bottom support surface disposed at substantially a bottom thereof and a lid support surface disposed at substantially at top thereof. The bottom support surface is sized to receive the outer perimeter of the bottom panel and the lid support surface is sized to receive the outer perimeter of the removable lid. In a first embodiment, the bottom panel and removable lid are retained with at least two retention projections. In a second embodiment, the bottom panel and removable lid are retained with a plurality of retention protrusions. In a third embodiment, the bottom panel is retained with adhesive and the removable lid is retained with at least one piece of tape. In a fourth embodiment, the bottom panel and removable lid are retained in slots.

摘要： A kit for making boxes from paper card stock. The kit has a flat plate with a guide rail with a vertical edge projecting above the surface of the plate parallel to one edge of the plate. A scoring groove traverses the plate parallel to the vertical edge of the guide rail. One or more spacing strips, each having a vertical edge, may be placed between the vertical edge of the guide rail and the scoring groove to vary the depth of the box. The overall size or "footprint" of a box made in accordance with the invention is determined by the distance of the scoring groove from the nearest vertical edge and the size of the blank card stock employed. Two identical sized card stocks are used for each box. A slightly wider spacing strip is used to form the top than the spacing strip used to form the bottom of the box. This also makes the depth of the box bottom slightly greater than the box top. The kit includes a scoring plate, two sets of spacing strips and a scoring tool, and is used to fashion boxes in a variety of shapes and sizes. In another embodiment of the kit the scoring plate has guide rails and score lines on both sides, wherein the guide rail on one side is spaced slightly further away from the score line than on the other side to make the box bottom slightly smaller in size than the box top.

摘要： A paperboard shaped into a profile substantially the same as that of a carton blank for folding into a carbon is formed with a plurality of first slits on an edge of the paperboard at a predetermined angle relative to the edge and with a plurality of second slits on the same edge at a predetermined angle relative to the first slits in such a manner that saw-teeth are integrally formed thereon. The saw-teeth are immersed in a bath of a quick drying adhesive including .alpha.-cyanoacrylate to be impregnated with the adhesive and then dried, thereby forming teeth constituting a cutter on the carton blank. The carton obtained by folding the carton blank can be used as a packaging container for accommodating a roll of wrapping web. An apparatus for carrying out the method comprises a first group of cutting blades for forming the first slits, a second group of cutting blades for forming the second slits so as to integrally form saw-teeth on the edge portion, a bath of adhesive for impregnating the teeth with the adhesive, a dryer for drying the teeth, and a transfer device for transferring the paperboard along a predetermined path via the first and second groups of cutting blades, the bath and the dryer.
