Abstract:
An electrical conduit fitting installation system and method of use for replacement of conduit fittings in existing installations and for new building construction is disclosed. The present system includes a plurality of electrical conduit fittings and couplings which are manufactured in mating half-sections that can be assembled by use of fasteners, gaskets and associated hardware. The use of such replacement conduit bodies of the present system allows replacement of a damaged conduit body of conventional unitary construction using standard tools without the need for disconnection and withdrawal of wiring from the conduit required to replace a conventional conduit body. The present system includes conduit bodies, couplings and accessory conduit components which are available in various configurations and standard sizes used in the industry. The replacement conduit bodies of the present system are fabricated of materials such as engineered plastics, metals and explosion proof materials to provide an industry approved installation.
Abstract:
A laboratory joint is provided for a pair of male and female members having matable tapered ends which are connected together by a sleeve which can lock the members together to prevent accidental separation, which sleeve is capable of separating the assembled members when desired in a safe and expedient manner.
Abstract:
A coupling is provided to hold together a cone and socket joint between items of laboratory glassware. A first annular member is positioned about the cone portion of the joint and has a male threaded end. A second annular member is positioned about the socket portion of the joint and has a female threaded end which may be screwed onto the male threaded end of the first annular member. The first annular member has a seat which engages with an elastomeric sealing ring so that as the first and second annular members are tightened together the elastomeric sealing ring is compressed into the external line of junction corresponding to the outermost circumference of contact between the cone portion and the socket portion of the assembled joint. The second annular member locates indirectly behind the external strengthening lip around the mouth of the socket portion by means of an interjacent ring which has a male frustoconical surface. The second annular member has an inwardly directed flange formed with a female frustoconical surface which cooperates with the male surface of the interjacent ring whereby, in the assembled coupling, the axis of the assembled coupling is aligned with the axis of the cone and socket joint and the interjacent ring is urged radially inwards behind the socket portion of the joint.
Abstract:
A dual containment fitting may include a primary tubing, a secondary tubing, and a dual containment body. The secondary tubing may surround and be concentric with a first portion of the primary tubing forming a first leak containment space between the primary tubing and the secondary tubing. The dual containment body may include a flare fitting portion and a primary containment nut portion. The flare fitting portion may surround and be concentric with the primary tubing forming a second leak containment space between the primary tubing and the flare fitting portion. The primary containment nut portion may surround and be concentric with the flared end of the primary tubing forming a third leak containment space between the primary tubing and the primary containment nut portion. The primary containment nut portion may include at least one leak passage hole connecting the third leak containment space with the second leak containment space.
Abstract:
A closure fitting for enclosing a portion of one or more carrier conduits between a first containment conduit section and an opposed second containment conduit section has: (a) a first cylindrical hollow body; (b) a second cylindrical hollow body, the second body being reversibly attached in fluid tight communication to the first body; (c) a first seal for sealing the first body to the first containment conduit section and a second seal for sealing the second body to the second containment conduit section, wherein and (d) a third seal for reversibly sealing the first body to the second body. In the invention, at least one of the first or second seals allows one of the bodies to axially move with respect to its containment conduit section.
Abstract:
Provided is a process for producing a glass-like carbon deformed molded article having a deformed section (typically, an elliptical section or a section composed of partial circles and linear portions), such as a glass-like carbon member in a deformed pipe form or a bent pipe, with relative ease and a good dimensional accuracy. The process comprises the step of molding a thermosetting resin to yield a thermosetting resin molded article, the step of deforming the thermosetting resin molded article plastically in the state that the article is heated, so as to yield a thermosetting resin deformed article, and the step of carbonizing the resultant thermosetting resin deformed article.
Abstract:
A quartz pipe joint of the present invention can be used in a connection of, for example, a quartz pipe and a quartz pipe, or a quartz pipe 7 and a synthetic resin tube. The quartz pipe joint A has a joint body having a tapered pressing face a cylindrical sealing member 33 having a tapered receiving face 33, a lock ring which can deform to increase its diameter and deform to reduce its diameter and which can be fitted into an annular groove of the quartz pipe and a nut. When the lock ring fitted into the annular groove and the sealing member fitted into the quartz pipe are clamped by threadedly connecting the nut to the joint body, the sealing member is deformed to reduce its diameter by the function of the pressing face and the receiving face, so as to closely contact with the outer peripheral face of the quartz pipe, thereby exerting sealing properties. The lock ring engages with a groove wall of the annular groove to prevent the quartz pipe from slipping off from the joint.
Abstract:
An easily-assembled, heat resistant connector for releasably joining end portions of three capillary tubes for use in chromatography without interrupting flow or interfering with chromatographic results comprises a main body, and a glass insert which has first, second and third hollow legs that are connected together at a central portion, and a connector that connects each leg of the glass insert to a capillary tube. Each leg of the glass insert extends outwardly from the central portion towards an open end portion, and each leg has an inboard bore with a taper that receives and end portion of one of the capillary tubes. The taper is wider near the open end portion of the leg and narrower near the central portion. The connectors are mounted on the main body and a sealing ferrule is provided in each connector for making a seal between the capillary tubes and the legs of the glass insert. An adjusting screw in each connector provides for independently adjusting the pressure against each of the sealing ferrules to insure that an efficient seal is made between each capillary tube and a leg of the glass insert.
