摘要: A vehicle transceiver module is provided for use in a synchronous communication system including the vehicle transceiver module and one or more key fobs, each of the key fobs including a key fob transceiver for transmitting and receiving signals. The vehicle transceiver module includes transceiver circuitry, a controller, a storage device and power control circuitry. The transceiver circuitry receives the signal transmitted by the key fob transceiver and provides it to the controller. The controller is coupled to the transceiver for determining an offset value associated with one of the key fobs in response to an offset time duration between a reception time of the signal from the key fob and a first expected reception time of the signal from the key fob. The storage device is coupled to the controller for receiving the offset value associated with the key fob from the controller and stores the offset value along with information identifying the key fob. The power control circuitry is coupled to the transceiver circuitry for providing operational power thereto. In addition, the controller is also coupled to the power control circuitry and provides a begin transmission signal thereto to power up the transceiver circuitry for transmission of a signal to the key fob at a transmission start time determined by the controller in response to the offset value associated with the key fob and a second expected reception time.

摘要: A radio paging receiver (pager) and method for receiving a non-standard radio paging signal including a relatively short burst of preamble data. If a non-standard radio paging signal is received, the pager alters an ON/OFF cycle of a battery saving signal that controls the supply of operating power to electronics within the pager. An ON period of the battery saving signal is maintained and an OFF period thereof is shortened by one half, thereby improving the signal reception success rate of the pager.

摘要: A mobile radio system provides an appropriate usage environment in accordance with how often a mobile station is used. The base station informs via a broadcast channel each of the mobile station of PCHs and corresponding intermittent reception intervals. The mobile station selects one of the PCHs having a user's desired intermittent reception interval, and reports the selected PCH to the base station. The base station pages the mobile station over the PCH reported by the mobile station.

摘要: A digital cordless telephone system includes a plurality of radio base stations, a master unit, a subsidiary unit, a charging base, and a communication mode switching unit. The radio base stations are connected to a public line and each cover a certain service area. The master unit is connected to a personal line. The subsidiary unit is connected to a nearby radio base station or the master unit through a time-division multiplex radio channel to transmit/receive speech and control data. The charging base charges the subsidiary unit. The communication mode switching unit includes a detection section for detecting that the subsidiary unit is placed on the charging base, and a control section for automatically selecting whether to connect the subsidiary unit to a radio base station or the master unit depending on whether the subsidiary unit is placed on the charging base.

摘要: A critical event notification system continuously monitors patient statistics and lab data to detect critical events, and automatically pages a responsible physician or physicians, each having an alphanumeric pager. In particular, a computer is used to continually access real-time data and multiple hospital databases which are periodically updated. These databases include patient chart databases, databases corresponding to patient history and databases maintained by various labs. The computer, preferably a clinical information system, is automatically provided with certain data, or periodically extracts it from other, relational databases. The computer automatically reviews this data, makes the critical event determination, and formulates an alphanumeric message that is informative as to the patient's condition and the reasons why a critical event was detected. After automatically retrieving from a database a personal identification number ("PIN") for a remote pager of each physician responsible for the patient, the computer automatically establishes modem contact with a paging network, and causes the network to page each responsible physician and transmit to them the alphanumeric message. The alphanumeric message preferably indicates patient name, diagnosis, the event prompting the page, and the name and return telephone number of medical personnel at the hospital who are attending the particular patient.

摘要: A paging receiver having two warning modes, i.e., an audible mode and a vibrating mode, is provided. A vibrating motor of the paging receiver receives a voltage for controlling the level or intensity of vibrations provided by the motor. Various vibration voltage levels are provided to a multiplexer, and the multiplexer is controlled to sequentially output the various vibration voltages applied thereto, wherein each succeeding vibration voltage output by the multiplexer has a voltage level higher than a preceding vibration voltage.

摘要: In a radio receiver comprising a battery, a local oscillator, a mixer, a demodulator and a controller, a voltage level of the battery is detected within the rise time of the local oscillator after the power is supplied thereto. The power is intermittently supplied to the local oscillator and other circuits. Before the rise of the local oscillator, the voltage level is selected to check the battery. After the rise of the local oscillator, the demodulated signal is selected to perform usual receiving operation. The rise of the local oscillator is detected by comparing an amplitude of the intermediate frequency signal with a reference value. The voltage level and the demodulated signal are transferred to the controller through a single port.

摘要: A system and method are shown for selecting an outbound subsystem and an inbound subsystem to be used to communicate between a subscriber unit (10) and an integrated communication system having a number of subsystems (30, 50) that are capable of operating independently. The subscriber unit (10) stores in a memory (77) for each of the different types of messages that the subscriber unit (10) can handle, a list of the subsystems that can be used to communicate the message type wherein each list is ordered according to the subscriber unit's preference for using a subsystem for outbound messages of the particular type. When the subscriber unit receives control information from the integrated system identifying a particular type of message that the system expects to communicate to the subscriber unit, the subscriber unit identifies at least one outbound subsystem in the list stored for the received message type covering the area in which the subscriber unit is located. The subscriber unit then communicates this information to the integrated subsystem using an inbound channel of the most preferred identified subsystem having one. If none of the identified subsystems includes an inbound channel the subscriber unit identifies the most preferred inbound subsystem that the subscriber unit can access regardless of message type.

摘要: A valid bit generator of a base station generates a valid bit to be disposed at or near the top of a message to be transmitted. The valid bit is set to be inactive if the message can be ignored, or active if the message cannot be ignored. Upon reception of this message, a valid bit detector at each terminal station judges whether the valid bit of the received message is inactive or active. If the valid bit is inactive, a message analyzing process is immediately stopped, whereas if it is active, the message is received and analyzed to the end thereof.
