摘要: A high-purity 1,3-butylene glycol product that is colorless and odorless (or almost colorless and odorless), unlikely to cause coloration and odor over time, and/or unlikely to cause an acid concentration increase over time when the product is left in a state containing water is provided. A 1,3-butylene glycol product containing 1,3-butylene glycol, wherein, after the 1,3-butylene glycol product has been kept at 180° C. for 3 hours in air atmosphere, at least one of contents of compounds represented by the following Formula (A) or (B) is less than 8 ppm. In the following formula, R1 to R4 are the same as or different from each other, and each of R1 to R4 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group which has from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and may be substituted with a hydroxy group, or an alkenyl group which has from 2 to 4 carbon atoms and may be substituted with a hydroxy group.

摘要: A Ni—Al2O3@Al2O3—SiO2 catalyst with coated structure is provided. The catalyst has a specific surface area of 98 m2/g to 245 m2/g, and a pore volume of 0.25 cm3/g to 1.1 cm3/g. A mass ratio of an Al2O3 carrier to active component Ni in the catalyst is Al2O3:Ni=100:4˜26, a mass ratio of the Al2O3 carrier to an Al2O3—SiO2 coating layer is Al2O3:Al2O3—SiO2=100:0.1˜3, and a molar ratio of Al to Si in the Al2O3—SiO2 coating layer is 0.01 to 1. Ni particles are distributed on a surface of the Al2O3 carrier in an amorphous or highly dispersed state and have a grain size less than or equal to 8 nm, and the coating layer is filled among the Ni particles.

摘要: Processes for converting a hydrocarbon reactant into an alcohol compound and/or a carbonyl compound are disclosed, and these processes include the steps of forming a supported chromium catalyst comprising chromium in a hexavalent oxidation state, irradiating the hydrocarbon reactant and the supported chromium catalyst with a light beam at a wavelength in the UV-visible spectrum to reduce at least a portion of the supported chromium catalyst to form a reduced chromium catalyst, and hydrolyzing the reduced chromium catalyst to form a reaction product comprising the alcohol compound and/or the carbonyl compound. The supported chromium catalyst can be formed by heat treating a supported chromium precursor, contacting a chromium precursor with a solid support while heat treating, or heat treating a solid support and then contacting a chromium precursor with the solid support.

摘要: A process for the recovery of ethylene glycol from an aqueous stream comprising ethylene glycol is disclosed. The process comprises (a) subjecting an aqueous stream 5 comprising ethylene glycol to an evaporation step in a multiple-effect evaporator to obtain a concentrated stream comprising ethylene glycol; (b) subjecting said concentrated stream comprising ethylene glycol to a first dehydration step in a first dehydrator 10 operating at an overhead pressure in the range of 0 barg (bar gauge) to 4 barg (bar gauge) to obtain a partially dehydrated ethylene glycol stream, and (c) subjecting said partially dehydrated ethylene glycol stream to a second dehydration step in a second dehydrator operating under 15 vacuum to obtain a dehydrated ethylene glycol stream.

摘要: Provided is a method for preparing a diol. In the method, a saccharide and hydrogen as raw materials are contacted with a catalyst in water to prepare the diol. The employed catalyst is a composite catalyst comprised of a main catalyst and a cocatalyst, wherein the main catalyst is a water-insoluble acid-resistant alloy; and the cocatalyst is a soluble tungstate and/or soluble tungsten compound. The method uses an acid-resistant, inexpensive and stable alloy needless of a support as a main catalyst, and can guarantee a high yield of the diol in the case where the production cost is relatively low.

摘要: The present invention relates to novel hydroxyl compounds, compositions comprising hydroxyl compounds, and methods useful for treating and preventing a variety of diseases and conditions such as, but not limited to aging, Alzheimer's Disease, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic retinopathy, a disorder of glucose metabolism, dyslipidemia, dyslipoproteinemia, hypertension, impotence, inflammation, insulin resistance, lipid elimination in bile, obesity, oxysterol elimination in bile, pancreatitis, pancreatitius, Parkinson's disease, a peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-associated disorder, phospholipid elimination in bile, renal disease, septicemia, metabolic syndrome disorders (e.g., Syndrome X), thrombotic disorder. Compounds and methods of the invention can also be used to modulate C reactive protein or enhance bile production in a patient. In certain embodiments, the compounds, compositions, and methods of the invention are useful in combination therapy with other therapeutics, such as hypocholesterolemic and hypoglycemic agents.
