Abstract:
An improved process for the polymerization of olefin monomer selected from (a) ethylene, (b) propylene, (c) mixtures of ethylene and propylene and (d) mixtures of (a), (b) or (c) with one or more alpha-olefins in a fluidized bed gas phase reactor, said process comprising passing a gaseous mixture of said olefin monomers(s) through the fluidized bed under effective polymerization conditions to provide a polymer product containing unreacted monomer(s) and a gaseous effluent stream comprising unreacted monomer(s), removing the polymer product to a degassing vessel, recycling a first portion of the gaseous effluent stream to the fluidized bed and passing a second portion of the gaseous effluent stream to counter currently contact the polymer product in said degassing vessel to produce a polymer product having a reduced amount of unreacted monomer(s), characterized in that the improvements to the process comprise: (i) removing heavy hydrocarbons from the second portion of the effluent stream and returning said hydrocarbons to the first portion of the effluent stream for recycle to the fluidized bed, (ii) removing substantially all of the monomer(s) from the second portion of the effluent stream and returning said monomers(s) to the first portion of the effluent stream for recycle to the fluidized bed, and (iii) recycling the second effluent stream after passage through the degassing vessel to the gaseous effluent stream.
Abstract:
A method for assembling an eddy current inspection device includes at least partially positioning a first tip assembly within a cavity defined by a proximity probe case. The first tip assembly defines a bore therethrough. The first tip assembly is sealingly coupling to the proximity probe case. A second tip assembly is at least partially positioned within the cavity and sealingly coupled to the first tip assembly.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions for stimulating the growth, proliferation, differentiation and/or mobilization of stem and/or progenitor cells are described. The method involves administering an effective amount of a substance which can activate the CD163 hemoglobin scavenger receptor signal transduction pathway. The methods and compositions are useful in stimulating hematopoiesis and in treating a wide range of conditions including cytopenias, anemias and for use in preparing cells for transplantation.
Abstract:
A bracket for mounting a sensor. The bracket may include a base with a base loading mechanism for mating with the sensor, a first arm attached to the base, and a second arm adjustably attached to the base. The first arm may include a first arm loading mechanism for mating with the sensor.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for automatically generating pattern keys based on models of user travel patterns and behavior, wherein the pattern keys may be used in automated navigation systems for fast and efficient prediction of user destinations.
Abstract:
A method of operation for an engine system having a variable geometry turbocharger with a vane, the vane having a variable position is provided. The method includes adjusting a vane of the variable geometry turbocharger through a range of operation by stepping through a plurality of vane positions and holding at each of the plurality of positions, the range spanning from a substantially minimum position to a substantially maximum position of the variable geometry turbocharger, and adjusting operation of the engine based on a response to the vane adjustment.
Abstract:
An assembly and method for providing at multiphase current signals in which a plurality of conductors is arranged with conductors carrying dissimilar phases adjacent one another, and preferably in a balanced arrangement, such that the induced magnetic fields are subtractive from each other, and the assembly with reduced inductance results.
Abstract:
A system that performs an analysis of a gas laser application comprises a receiver component that receives an identity of a gas laser and parameters relating to intended use of the gas laser. An analysis component automatically generates a cost analysis of the gas laser application based at least in part upon the received identity and parameters, the cost analysis includes fixed cost and variable cost of the gas laser application.
Abstract:
A flexible valve for a blood treatment set. A flexible fitting including a first chamber, a second chamber, and a slit barrier connecting the first chamber and second chamber and positioned therebetween. An actuating member is positioned in rotating engagement with the slit barrier that is moveable from a first rotational position, in which the slit is closed, to a second position, in which the slit is open. The flexible valve is attachable to a port of a blood treatment chamber. A user opens the valve by rotating the actuating member from a first position to a second position and closes the valve by rotating the valve from the second position to a first position.
Abstract:
A power management system including a battery-powered application, in which an input current is supplied by a source of current that may be a current-constrained source, such as a USB port, to a battery for charging the battery and to an application load. Battery charging current is supplied to the battery for a period of time based on magnitude of battery charging current, so that charging current of lesser magnitude is applied to the battery for a greater period of time. In accord with one implementation, battery charging current is determined by monitoring the difference between a programmed charging current, dependent on battery type, and magnitude of current used by the load. Change of battery charging current due to voltage mode charging, when charge current begins to drop as the battery approaches full charge, is detected, and in response, the charging period is set to a fixed charging period based on the battery.
