Abstract:
A perpendicular magnetic recording head includes a main magnetic pole layer having an inverted trapezoidal cross-section at the face opposing a recording medium. The main magnetic pole layer is formed by plating in a groove which is formed in a resist layer. The width of the resist layer in the track width direction gradually increases from the bottom to the top of the resist layer. This tapered groove is formed by annealing a nontapered groove or controlling the patterning precision of the resist layer. The inverted trapezoidal main magnetic pole layer prevents side fringing when the perpendicular magnetic recording head has a skew angle.
Abstract:
In an air conditioner having an electrical equipment mount device containing at least one circuit board on which electrical parts connected to wires are mounted, plural wire abutting portions are formed on a wire fixing face so as to be different in height from said wire fixing face, and a wire is fixedly pinched between a wire press member and one of the wire abutting portions that is selected in accordance with the diameter of the wire. The wire fixing face has a conduit fixing member having a conduit fixing face to which one end portion of a conduit having electrical wires inserted therein is fixed. Plural engaging holes are formed in the wire fixing face, and the conduit fixing member is equipped with plural engaging members which are fixedly engageable with the engaging holes of the electrical equipment mount plate. The engaging members are located at different positions on the conduit fixing member with respect to the conduit fixing face.
Abstract:
A main magnetic pole layer is formed on an insulating layer flattened into a high-flatness surface, and a yoke layer having a large film thickness is formed under the main magnetic pole layer independently of the main magnetic pole. The main magnetic pole layer has a front end surface formed in a shape with a width size gradually increasing in a direction of track width as the front end surface departs farther away from an auxiliary magnetic pole layer. A perpendicular magnetic recording head can be provided which can suppress the occurrence of fringing in a recording pattern, and can form the main magnetic pole layer with high pattern accuracy, and can satisfactorily introduce a recording magnetic field to a fore end of the main magnetic pole layer.

Abstract:
When a single room unit 4 is connected to a compressor 2B of the outdoor unit 1, the room unit 4 is connected to a connection box 29 which is mounted on the outdoor unit 1. Instead, if two room units 5A and 5B must be connected to the outdoor unit 1, a connection box 37 is mounted on the back of the outdoor unit 1. The connection box 37 has branches each having valves 44A and 44B and expansion devices 43A and 43B. The two room units are connected to these branches of the connection box 37. Because of these optional connection boxes, the outdoor unit itself may be constructed in a compact form, and connection of multiple room units to the outdoor unit may be carried out conveniently and correctly in a simple manner.
Abstract:
A curtain coating method and apparatus using a rotatable or slidable coating plate and in which a coating liquid freely falls in the form of a thin film from a hopper. The thin film collides with a web continuously running and circumferentially turning around a backup roller to coat the web. The coating plate is rotated or slid to retract so that the freely falling coating liquid reaches the web so as to coat the web after the freely falling coating liquid flows along a checking plate which is doglegged in section and provided on a forward end of the coating plate, thereby coating the web with an even thickness at the start of coating operations.
Abstract:
A keyless chuck for a rotary tool comprises a chuck body which is adapted to be coupled at its one end to a drive spindle of a drive source and coupled at the other end to a tool bit for establishing a driving connection from the drive source to the tool bit. Relatively rotatable to the chuck body is a handle ring which is operatively connected to a set of gripping jaws for tightening the gripping jaws on the tool bit upon being rotated in one direction and loosening the same upon being rotated in the opposite direction. The handle ring is disposed on the chuck body in such a manner as to coincide the rotating direction of the handle ring for tightening the gripping jaws with the reverse rotating direction of the chuck body for removing the tool bit from a workpiece. A clutch interconnects the handle ring and the chuck body in order to rotatively fix the handle ring to the chuck body when the latter is driven to rotate in the reverse direction of removing the tool bit, causing the handle ring to positively rotate in the direction of tightening the gripping jaws and thus preventing it from counter-rotating in the direction of loosening the tool bit when there develops an interaction between the rotating chuck body and the handle ring relatively rotatable thereto. Associated with the clutch is a control mechanism which functionally moves the clutch between an active position where it is activated for the clutch connection and an inactive where it releases the handle ring from the chuck body to permit the relative rotation of the handle ring with respect to the chuck body for enabling the hand tightening and loosening of the gripping jaws.

A rotary cleaning member comprises a revolving shaft installed rotatably inside a main body casing, and a plurality of flexible blades provided with a number of projections on the surface thereof abutting upon the surface of a floor, these blades extending radially from the circumference of the revolving shaft one another in a cleaner wherein the rotary cleaning member installed in the main body casing is rotated to spring up dust or the like on the floor, or convey the dust or the like sprung up by means of said rotary cleaning member to a prescribed position for receiving the dust or the like in combination with suction.
Abstract:
When a manager uses an input device to input the inspected states of the degrees of soundness of a plurality of objects, a data receiving unit receives them as inspection data. A deterioration characteristic calculating unit calculates the average value of the deterioration characteristics of the objects based on data related to the degrees of soundness of the plurality of objects that is received by the data receiving unit. A heterogeneous parameter calculating unit calculates a heterogeneous parameter for each heterogeneous factor that cannot be observed or is difficult to observe, and causes a variation in the deterioration characteristics. A benchmarking unit evaluates the influence of the heterogeneous factors on the deterioration characteristics based on the heterogeneous parameters, and an output unit outputs the evaluation result.
Abstract:
A digital signal demultiplexing apparatus that can demultiplex and a digital signal multiplexing apparatus that can multiplex signals of channels having arbitrary frequency intervals and bandwidths are provided. The digital signal demultiplexing apparatus performs discrete Fourier transform on an input signal, output samples existing within frequency bands of each channel from samples of the frequency domain, add samples such that the number of samples of each channel become a power of two, and performs, on the samples of each channel, discrete inverse Fourier transform of a length the same as the number of the samples. The digital signal multiplexing apparatus performs discrete Fourier transform of a length the same as the number of samples of an input signal for a predetermined period, outputs samples existing within frequency bands of each channel from samples of the frequency domain of each channel, and arrange the samples according to frequency assignment of each channel to perform discrete inverse Fourier transform.
