Abstract: A supercapacitor apparatus within a sealed housing to provide a high-voltage EDLC energy storage unit includes cells stacked on one another, with each cell having a set of supercapacitors that are interconnected within the apparatus in a parallel-series configuration to provide an internally balanced energy storage unit that is capable of stand-off voltages of 10 volts or higher. The energy storage unit does not require balancing resistors or more complicated external balancing circuitry. The electrodes of the supercapacitors are comprised of carbon nanotubes and graphene nanoplatelets.

Abstract: A machine learning classifier that diagnoses autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is described that transforms data obtained from a patient medical history and a patients saliva into data that correspond to a test panel of features, the data for the features including human microtranscriptome and microbial transcriptome data, wherein the transcriptome data are associated with respective RNA categories for ASD. The classifier classifies the transformed data by applying the data to the classifier that has been trained to detect ASD using training data associated with the features of the test panel. The trained classifier includes vectors that define a classification boundary and predicts a probability of ASD based on results of the classifying.

Abstract: A method for controlling a data center, comprising a plurality of server systems, each associated with a cooling system and a thermal constraint, comprising: a concurrent physical condition of a first server system; predicting a future physical condition based on a set of future states of the first server system; dynamically controlling the cooling system in response to at least the input and the predicted future physical condition, to selectively cool the first server system sufficient to meet the predetermined thermal constraint; and controlling an allocation of tasks between the plurality of server systems to selectively load the first server system within the predetermined thermal constraint and selectively idle a second server system, wherein the idle second server system can be recruited to accept tasks when allocated to it, and wherein the cooling system associated with the idle second server system is selectively operated in a low power consumption state.

Abstract: A method of supervised machine learning-based spectrum analysis information, using a neural network trained with spectrum information, to identify a specified feature of a given material, a system for supervised machine learning-based spectrum analysis, and a method of training a neural network to analyze spectrum data. The method of supervised machine learning-base spectrum analysis comprises inputting into the neural network spectrum data obtained from a sample of the given material; and the neural network processing the spectrum data, in accordance with the training of the neural network, and outputting one or more values for the specified feature of the sample of the material. In an embodiment, the training set of data includes x-ray absorption spectroscopy data for the given material. In an embodiment, the training set of data includes electron energy loss spectra (EELS) data.

Abstract: Methods and devices for transmitting and receiving data through biological tissue using ultrasonic pulses are described. Methods of the present invention may set an initial time-hopping frame length and an initial spreading code length for data transmission. A request-to-transmit may be sent from a transmitter over a control channel at the initial frame and code length. The receiver may respond to the transmitter with a clear-to-transmit packet having feedback information. The feedback information can be used to improve a forward time-hopping frame length and a forward spreading code length. Embodiments of the invention may involve a body area network or body surface network comprising a plurality of implanted sensor nodes operating according to the disclosed invention.

The technique enables manufacture of heat removal devices and other deposited structures, especially on heat sensitive substrates. It also enables novel composites through additive manufacturing. The process enables rapid bonding, orders-of-magnitude faster than conventional techniques.
