The method also includes downloading the at least one file from the remote server to the proxy server. Upon detecting a presence of the endpoint, the method includes transferring the at least one file from the proxy server to the endpoint via a femto base station associated with the endpoint.

The derivation module may be configured to determine precoding information for a composite channel. The composite channel may represent characterizations of multiple wireless paths established between multiple receiving antennas and multiple transmitting antennas. The selection module may further be configured to select a codeword for each transmission point from a subset of predefined codewords based on the precoding information. The codeword for each transmission point may be used to manipulate data signals sent over the wireless paths established between the receiving antennas and the transmitting antennas of the respective transmission point.

The method further includes transmitting data traffic from the base station to the endpoint using at least one wireless connection between the endpoint and each node of the selected set.

The first system combines N ACK/NACK responses, corresponding to the N data transmissions received, and encodes the combined N ACK/NACK responses by selecting a position of a communication channel over which the first system sends ACK/NACK transmissions to the second system and setting a value for each bit sent during each ACK/NACK transmission based on the combined N ACK/NACK responses. The first system sends the bits at the selected position of the communication channel. The second system, upon receiving the bits sent at the selected position of the communication channel, decodes the N ACK/NACK responses based on the position at which the bits are sent and the bits.
