One embodiment of the invention provides a fully distributed, scaleable and modular rack architecture and management system. One feature of the invention provides device management throughout the rack system with a vertical interface column integrated into the rack cabinet. Within each rack unit (U) of the vertical interface column, the vertical interface column may deliver connectivity to a device housed within the rack cabinet thereby eliminating runs of cable typically necessary for management of such devices. The vertical interface column can be expanded as necessary to provide connectivity to more devices using hot-swappable interface modules. A rack management system allows both local and remote management access to all devices mounted in the rack cabinet and coupled to the vertical interface column. The rack management system may also access to devices mounted in other rack cabinets.

The over-current protection device of the present invention uses the unbalanced properties of the thermal expansion coefficients between the outer and inner sides for an upper metallic conductive sheet and a lower metallic conductive sheet to generate a torque to deform outwardly. The torque is used to pull a current-sensing element and present with at least a cracking face, so as to introduce an electrically open effect similar to a fuse. Thus, the present invention can achieve the object for preventing the danger of circuit system by the short circuit during the burning of over-current protection device.

A circuit activation probe is connected to the integrated circuit board. The circuit activation probe includes a water sensing probe and a temperature probe. The water sensing probe and the temperature probe extend into the straight bore of the tube device such that the circuit activation probe is only activated when the water sensing probe detects the presence of water in the bore of the tube device, after which, the temperature probe is activated to transmit a temperature reading to the integrated circuit board.

In general, the dynamic informed consent process (DICP) makes use of an intermediary organization, e.g., a trusted intermediary, which: (a) provides ICFs which have been dynamically generated for a specified trial or medical procedure and based on particular state or federal requirements, if any; and (b) archives copies of signed ICFs. In certain preferred embodiments, there may also be a procedure to provide training materials, such as audio or video presentations, to be viewed by prospective participants. In certain preferred embodiments, the process also includes contacting subjects who have signed ICFs in the event that there is a change of circumstance which the subject may deem material to whether s/he would continue to consent, or whether the participant needs to provide a different type of consent to participate in particular event or trial.

The present invention improves the wetting between process solution and the wafer surface when they are put into contact by pre-implementing an adsorbed liquid layer on the entire front surface of the wafer just prior to the process. The pre-implementing adsorbed liquid layer is realized by transporting vaporized liquid molecules from vapor phase at elevated temperature (relative to wafer) and condensing them onto wafer surface. The pre-implementing adsorbed liquid is fully filled in the patterned structures formed on the wafer by multilayer absorption of the vaporized liquid molecules and the temperature of the wafer surface is above dew point of the vaporized liquid while condensing, which avoids generating bubbles inside the patterned structures.

A DRAM refresh method used with a memory system organized into rows of memory cells, each of which has an associated data retention time, with the system arranged to refresh predefined blocks of memory cells simultaneously. For each block of memory cells that are to be refreshed simultaneously, the minimum data retention time for the memory cells in the block is determined. Then, an asymmetric refresh sequence is created which specifies the order in which the blocks of memory cells are refreshed, such that the blocks having the shortest minimum data retention times are refreshed more often than the blocks having longer minimum data retention times.

In various embodiments, applicants' teachings are related to an active guarding circuit and method for reducing parasitic impedance signal loading on a signal-transmission channel that is shunted by a parasitic impedance. The presence of an electrical signal on the signal-transmission channel causes a leakage current to flow through the parasitic impedance. In various embodiments, the circuit comprises an amplifier and an impedance, one terminal of the impedance is coupled to the signal-transmission channel. The input of the amplifier is coupled to the signal-transmission channel and the output is coupled to the other terminal of the impedance so as to cause a compensation current to flow through the impedance. The gain of the amplifier and the value of the impedance are selected so that the compensation current has a magnitude substantially equal to the leakage current magnitude.
