    Abstract: A delivery apparatus for a medical device implant can include an outer catheter and a flexible delivery catheter. The outer catheter can have an axially extending shaft and a first lumen extending co-axially through the axially extending shaft. The flexible delivery catheter can have an elongate shaft having a flexible section extending along a distal portion of the elongate shaft, and the flexible section of the elongate shaft can be positioned or adjusted between a first, delivery configuration and a second, activated configuration. The delivery catheter can have a pull wire extending co-axially through a second lumen axially extending through the elongate shaft. A distal end of the pull wire can be fixedly secured or attached to the distal end of the elongate shaft.

    Abstract: A method for improving leaflet prolapse and/or valve regurgitation associated with a heart valve involves delivering a spacer device into a ventricle of a heart using a delivery system comprising a catheter, fixing the spacer device to a wall of the ventricle, expanding the spacer device to reposition a papillary muscle disposed in the ventricle away from the wall, the papillary muscle being connected to a leaflet of an atrioventricular heart valve via chordae tendineae, and releasing the spacer device from the catheter.

    Abstract: Methods and tools for folding and/or capturing leaflets of a heart valve are disclosed herein. Prior to or during installing of a prosthetic heart valve, part of a leaflet of an existing valvular structure can be positioned distally and/or folded upon itself. The existing valvular structure may be a native heart valve or a previously-implanted prosthetic heart valve. When the existing valvular structure is at the aortic position, the prosthetic heart valve can be subsequently installed within the existing valvular structure such that the leaflet is maintained in a location that avoids obstructing blood flow to one or more of the coronary arteries.

    Abstract: An assembly and associated method for a commissure of a prosthetic heart valve is disclosed. As one example, a method includes forming a plurality of commissures with a plurality of leaflets of a prosthetic heart valve, wherein each commissure is formed by: folding each commissure tab of each leaflet into a series of overlapping layers, each folded commissure tab arranged outward of, in a lateral direction, a portion of a body of the leaflet that is directly connected to the commissure tab; pairing each folded commissure tab of each leaflet with a folded commissure tab of another leaflet; and securing at least a portion of the series of overlapping layers of each folded commissure tab in its folded configuration.

    Abstract: An implantable prosthetic device can include a frame that is radially expandable and compressible between a radially compressed configuration and a radially expanded configuration. The frame can include a plurality of struts, each strut comprising a first portion and a second portion separated by a deflection point. Each strut can be curved helically with respect to a first, longitudinal axis of the frame. The first portion of each strut can be curved in a first direction with respect to a first line parallel to a second axis that is perpendicular to the first, longitudinal axis of the frame, and the second portion of each strut can be curved in a second direction with respect to a second line parallel to the second axis.

    Abstract: A prosthetic heart valve includes an annular frame that is radially collapsible and radially expandable, a plurality of leaflets situated within the frame, each leaflet having opposing commissure tab portions on opposite sides of the leaflet, each commissure tab portion paired with an adjacent commissure tab portion of an adjacent leaflet to form at least one commissure, and a plurality of post members mounted on an interior surface of the frame. The at least one commissure includes a commissure attachment assembly including a support member disposed at least partially around the commissure tab portions and the commissure tab portions are folded around the support member. The commissure attachment assembly is secured to a first post member of the plurality of post members such that the commissure tab portions are positioned between the first post member and the support member.
