摘要： The present invention relates to a broadband wireless access system, and more particularly, to a method for a mobile station to efficiently scan a neighbor base station and apparatus therefor. According to one embodiment of the present invention, in a broadband wireless access system, a method of performing a scan, which is performed by a mobile station to scan a neighbor base station, includes the steps of receiving a scan response (AAI_SCN-RSP) message including a first interval information indicating an interval for the mobile station to receive a preamble of the neighbor base station from a serving base station and receiving the preamble from the neighbor base station in the first interval. Preferably, the first interval is set by a subframe unit.

A method for a single-carrier supported mobile station (MS) to perform a carrier change with a MC supported base station (BS) includes transmitting a message indicating a support of a basic MC mode in which the MS is aware of a MC operation of the BS, receiving a carrier management command message including an action code and an action time on a serving carrier, transmitting, in response to the carrier management command message, a confirmation message indicating readiness of signal transmission/reception through a target carrier on a target carrier, and receiving a control signal and data from the BS on the target carrier, wherein the serving carrier and the target carrier are controlled by a common Medium Access Control (MAC) of the BS.

摘要： A method for determining temporary Base Station (BS) Identifiers (IDs) to efficiently set a multi-BS Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) transmission mode and an apparatus for implementing the same in a broadband wireless access system are disclosed. To perform a multi-BS MIMO operation, a Mobile Station (MS) receives a first broadcast message including system information about a plurality of neighbor BSs from a serving BS, receives a second broadcast message including BS set information from the serving BS, the BS set information specifying indexes of one or more neighbor BSs which can be involved in the multi-BS MIMO operation among the plurality of neighbor BSs, and determines a temporary BS ID of each BS included in the BS set information using the specified indexes.

摘要： A method for performing effective handover (HO) in a broadband wireless access system is disclosed. The method for controlling a mobile station (MS) to perform handover in a broadband wireless access system includes receiving a first message including at least one of first index information and second index information from a serving base station (SBS), wherein the first index information indicates a subframe to which an additional ranging opportunity for the mobile station (MS) is allocated from a target base station (TBS) and the second index information indicates a frame to which the additional ranging opportunity is allocated, and transmitting a ranging code to the target base station (TBS) through the additional ranging opportunity indicated by the first index information and the second index information.

摘要： A method for supporting a handover on the basis of the distance from an intermediate access point to a user equipment includes receiving uplink message set information of the user equipment from a serving base station of the user equipment; receiving the uplink message transmitted by predetermined transmitting power from the user equipment, and detecting the user equipment which has sent the uplink message on the basis of the uplink message set information; determining the receiving power by which said uplink message is received; calculating the distance between the intermediate access point and the detected user equipment by using said predetermined transmitting power and said receiving power; and performing a subsequent handover based on the distance calculated in the previous step.
