Abstract: Apparatuses, methods, and computer readable media for indicating a communication and information in a signal field are disclosed. A high-efficiency wireless local area network (HEW) device comprises circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to: generate a HEW packet comprising a legacy signal (L-SIG) field, where the L-SIG field comprises a plurality of subcarriers, and an R-L-SIG field, where the R-L-SIG field comprises a repeat of the plurality of subcarriers partitioned into a plurality of groups, and where information is encoded into one or more groups of the plurality of groups by a same modulation to each subcarrier partitioned into the corresponding group. A HEW device comprising circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to: receive a L-SIG field; receive a R-L-SIG field; and determine whether the R-L-SIG field is a repeat of the L-SIG field with piggybacked information.

Abstract: Uplink requests for bandwidth and/or other types of communication resources are provided. In some embodiments, a communication device can access a mapping between quality of service (QoS) metrics and communication resources. The communication device can determine a value of the QoS (e.g., a guaranteed rate, a defined traffic priority, an amount of buffered data, etc.) and can determine a communication resource element using at least the mapping and the value of the QoS metric. The communication device also can configure an uplink request for communication resources based at least on the communication resource element. In addition, the communication device can send the uplink request.

Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) device operates to directly determine a target small cell for access or handover with the assistance of a macro cell network. The UE directly generates the connection and selects which small cell to access from among a subset of small cells chosen of a set of candidate small cells. The UE is provided dedicated assistance information from the evolved node B (eNB) or macro network device. The dedicated assistance information enables the UE to measure data from the candidate small cells within a heterogeneous network environment. The UE shares the measured data and connects directly to the selected small cell for an access or handover operation.

Abstract: Embodiments of user equipment (UE) and methods for codebook subsampling for enhanced 4TX codebooks in 3GPP LTE wireless networks are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) is configured for transmission of channel state information (CSI) feedback including a rank indicator (RI) and a precoding matrix (W1). The rank indicator (RI) and a precoding matrix (W1) are jointly encoded and codebook subsampling is performed for the enhanced 4Tx codebook for at least one of: PUCCH report type 5 (RI/1st PMI) in PUCCH 1-1 submode 1; PUCCH report type 2c (CQI/1st PMI/2nd PMI) in PUCCH 1-1 submode 2; and PUCCH report type 1a (subband CQI/2nd PMI) in PUCCH 2-1.

Abstract: Apparatus, computer readable medium, and method for generating and receiving signal fields in a high efficiency wireless local-area network (WLAN) are disclosed. A high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) device including circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to adjust one or more parameters to determine whether or not the wireless medium is in use in where the parameters are signal detect (SD) threshold, a mid-packet detection (MPD) threshold, and an energy detection (ED) threshold.

Abstract: Apparatuses, methods and computer readable media for multi-user request-to-send and clear-to-send are disclosed. An apparatus of a high-efficiency wireless local area network (HEW) master station comprising circuitry is disclosed. The circuitry may be configured to: select a first group of stations to transmit a multi-user request-to-send (MU-RTS) transmission to and generate a MU-RTS packet for the first group of stations. The circuitry may be configured to transmit the MU-RTS packet to the first group of stations. The MU-RTS may include a resource map that indicates a subchannel for each of the first group of stations to receive data on and/or a power control indication for at least one of the stations of the one or more stations. The MU-RTS may indicate that some of the first group of stations should transmit a multi-user clear-to-send (MU-CTS) and others of the first group of stations should not transmit a MU-CTS.

Abstract: Embodiments pertain to systems, methods, and component devices for dynamic non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) communications. A first example embodiment includes user equipment (UE) configured to receive a first downlink control indicator (DCI) from an evolved node B (eNB) and process the first subframe as a first higher power NOMA subframe in response to a first power ratio signal. The DCI includes the first power ratio signal for a first NOMA subframe. The UE may then receive, from the eNB, a second DCI, the second DCI comprising a second power ratio signal for a second subframe and process, by the UE, the second subframe as a second lower power NOMA subframe in response to the second power ratio signal. Additional embodiments may further use another DCI with a third power ratio signal to configure the UE to receive orthogonal multiple access (OMA) communications.

Abstract: This disclosure describes methods, apparatus, and systems related to a high efficiency signal field load balancing system. A device may determine one or more high efficiency signal fields of a high efficiency preamble, wherein at least one of the one or more high efficiency signal fields includes at least in part a common field and one or more user specific fields. The device may determine a resource allocation index associated with the one or more user specific fields. The device may determine a partition of the one or more user specific fields between a first subfield of the at least one of the one or more high efficiency signal fields and a second subfield of the at least one of the one or more high efficiency signal fields based at least in part on the resource allocation index. The device may cause the one or more high efficiency signal fields to be wirelessly transmitted to one or more devices over a wireless communication channel.
