摘要: An image-capturing apparatus is capable of capturing a three-dimensional image and a high quality panoramic image as the need arises, and is portable if it is used as a single lens camera that captures a normal two-dimensional image. A second image-capturing unit having an image-capturing optical system is detachably connected to a first image-capturing unit, which is capable of functioning as an image-capturing apparatus by itself, through joints and a connector. The second image-capturing unit can extensively connect to other units, which have the similar connecting structure. Information is transmitted between the units through a slot for an external storage device. There is provided a means for adjusting the positions of images captured by the second and subsequent image-capturing units with respect to an image captured by the first image-capturing unit. In synchronism with release signals from the first image-capturing unit, the other units are driven to capture the images at the same time or continuously.

摘要: An error correction decoder possessing a decoding method with high error correction performance and capable of operating at a low operating frequency and on a reduced circuit scale. A decoding method based on the SOVA method for improving error correction performance and boosting reliability of the soft decision output by allowing branching of paths other than the survival path at trace-back is achieved by preparing a trace-back circuit for each state, and selecting an output from that output and survival state (survival state+difference of likelihood).

摘要: The disclosed invention makes mobile terminals physically impossible to use in specific spaces without using radio waves of so high intensity as to affect medical devices and without requiring telephone companies that operate wireless communications systems (WCS) to take special measures. Cooperation of a telephone company on the implementation of making mobile terminals physically impossible to use in specific spaces makes mobile terminals provided by the telephone company easy to use. Pseudo signals of downlink pilot signal in WCS are emitted off the pilot timing in specific spaces. Uplink channel radio waves in cooperative telephone compannies' WCS are relayed and communication path is disconnected if the uplink channel radio waves are for communication of an attribute banned in the space. Communication path can be disconnected without increasing the intensity of radio waves so high. In cooperative telephone compannies' WCS, only the path of communication of an attribute banned in the space is disconnected.

摘要: A transmitter station and receiver station have common maximum number of transmission bits per symbol of each subcarrier and information of encoding types to be selected. The transmitter station selects the modulation type from the propagation path quality of each subcarrier, executes the encoding with the encoding type corresponding to the number of bits for communication with the selected modulation type, distributes the maximum number of transmission bits per symbol of each subcarrier by dividing the code, and transmits the data through modulation of only the number of bits for communication with the selected modulation type among distributed bits in each subcarrier. The receiver station executes demodulation by selecting the modulation type used for demodulation from the propagation path quality, summarizes the demodulation result with addition of reception of the signal having a zero degree of likeliness for the number of wanted bits, and executes decoding to the result of demodulation.

摘要: A solid-state image pickup apparatus includes a mode setting circuit for allowing the operator to select desired one of the modes matching with the display format of a display which displays a video signal fed thereto. A clock generating circuit generates clocks including a first clock and a second clock higher in frequency than the first clock. A frequency selector selects either one of the first and second clocks in accordance with a mode fed from the mode setting circuit. An image pickup section includes a plurality of photosensitive cells for transforming, by photoelectric transduction, light incident thereto from a scene to be picked up. The image pickup section picks up the scene and produces signal charges representative of the scene in accordance with the output of the frequency selector. A noise reducing circuit reduces noise components included in a signal output from the image pickup section. A digitizing circuit converts the output of the noise reducing circuit to a digital signal in accordance with the first clock. A signal processing circuit processes the output of the digitizing circuit in a manner matching with picture display and/or recording. A controller controls the clock generating circuit, frequency selector, image pickup section, noise reducing circuit, digitizing circuit, and signal processing circuit. The modes include a first mode in which the frequency selector outputs the first clock and a second mode in which it outputs the second clock.
